Job description

Job Description Reporting to the Assistant Athletics Director of External Operations, the Athletics Marketing & Fan Engagement Assistant assists with the planning, execution, and evaluation of marketing, fan engagement, and game presentation efforts for Stetson University Athletics. The role must operate within the guidelines of the NCAA, the Atlantic Sun Conference, and within the mission of the University and its philosophy of intercollegiate athletics. This role supports efforts to enhance the game day experience, increase attendance, strengthen brand identity, and assist with sponsorship activation across assigned sports and events.

The position works collaboratively with Athletics Communications, Creative Services, Sponsorship/Corporate Partnerships, Ticket Operations, and Facilities/Event Operations to support a unified and engaging fan experience. This is a part-time internship position averaging up to 29 hours per week. The hire date for this position will be no sooner than 8/1/2026.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities: Employment duties include, but are not limited to: Assist with the development and execution of marketing and fan engagement plans for assigned sports and special events Support game day presentation efforts, including promotional scripting, in-game entertainment, public address reads, video board coordination, and fan engagement activations Coordinate and execute on-site promotions, giveaways, tabling, student outreach, and community engagement efforts Assist with sponsorship fulfillment and activation elements tied to athletic events and promotional initiatives Collaborate with Athletics Communications and Creative Services to support digital content creation and promotional messaging across platforms Assist in the creation and distribution of marketing materials, email communications, and social media support content Track attendance, promotional performance, and fan engagement metrics, and assist with post-event reporting and recaps Support the setup, execution, and breakdown of home athletic events and external operations initiatives Assist in coordinating student workers, interns, or volunteers assigned to game day marketing and fan engagement functions Perform other tasks as assigned Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: The knowledge, skills, and abilities for this role include: Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills High-energy, self-motivated work ethic with strong attention to detail Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail and professionalism Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite and/or Canva Working knowledge of social media platforms and basic marketing analytics Ability to interpret basic marketing and engagement analytics Ability to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays in alignment with athletic event schedules Required Qualifications: This position requires: Bachelor's degree in a related field (Sport Management, Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Business, or similar) or current enrollment in a relevant undergraduate or graduate program Experience managing social media platforms Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record as determined by the University's auto insurance carrier. Ideal Candidate Qualifications: Prior experience working within a collegiate athletic department, sports organization, or related event/marketing environment Familiarity with Daktronics Show Control and/or game presentation software Experience in live event production, fan engagement, or in-game entertainment execution Understanding of sponsorship activation and promotional fulfillment in athletics Work authorization sponsorship may be available for this position. However, sponsorship is contingent upon the non-applicability of the visa petition fees outlined in the relevant Executive Order signed September 19, 2025.

Due to the recent federally-mandated increased financial expense, the university is not in a position to absorb this significantly increased cost of sponsorship for new H-1B petitions at this time. International candidates are encouraged to apply, but should be aware that eligibility for sponsorship will be evaluated in accordance with current U.S. immigration regulations and institutional policies.
