Job Title: Lacrosse Coach
Reports To: Program Director
Location: Rocky River, OH
Hours Required: Full-Time; evenings, weekends, and occasional travel to tournaments and events ( This is a 1099 position)
Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Staff Coach to lead individual player development and support collective team development within Force Academy Lacrosse. Reporting to the Program Director, this role is responsible for executing the Force Academy Lacrosse Coaching Model and ensuring a consistent player experience across all age groups.
The Staff Coach will collaborate with fellow coaches to deliver high-quality training sessions, support player recruitment and evaluation, and foster a positive, competitive environment that reflects the Force Academy Player Development Philosophy. This role is ideal for a coach who is passionate about developing athletes, enjoys working as part of a collaborative coaching staff, and is committed to helping players reach their full potential both on and off the field.
Your Game Plan
Coaching amp; Player Development (60%)
  • Coach players across all Academy age groups while executing the Force Academy Lacrosse Coaching Model.
  • Serve as a lead trainer for seasonal supplemental training programs offered by the Academy.
  • Collaborate with position-specific coaches to design and execute engaging weekly training sessions.
  • Provide positive, constructive feedback that motivates players and supports long-term development.
  • Evaluate player performance through written and verbal feedback to encourage continued growth.
Program Development amp; Player Recruitment (25%)
  • Partner with the Academy coaching staff to develop and execute player recruitment strategies.
  • Recruit, guide, develop, and evaluate youth lacrosse players within the Academy.
  • Attend, assist, and support Academy events, tournaments, clinics, and additional programming as requested.
  • Participate in staff meetings and contribute to program planning and operational initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with coaches to ensure consistency across all Academy programs and age groups.
Leadership amp; Professional Excellence (15%)
  • Carry out responsibilities in accordance with Academy policies and all youth safeguarding standards.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and accountability in every interaction with players, families, and teammates.
  • Build positive relationships with athletes, parents, coaches, and Academy leadership.
  • Pursue ongoing coaching education and professional development opportunities.
  • Support additional Academy initiatives and perform other duties as assigned.
What You Bring to the Field
  • Previous coaching experience in a high school or collegiate lacrosse environment required.
  • Previous collegiate playing experience strongly preferred.
  • Expertise coaching a specific position group, including Offense, Defense, or Goalies.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive cross-functional relationships.
  • Excellent leadership, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive information.
  • Additional expertise in Sports Performance, Video Analysis, Child Development, Sports Medicine, or Psychology is preferred.
  • Ability to consistently work from the TOCA Sports location in Rocky River, OH.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and travel to tournaments and Academy events as needed.
