Salary Range: $120,000 - $140,000 CAD

Description

We are looking for a Senior Game Engineer to bring our favorite Dungeons and Dragons and Lord of the Rings moments off the page and into our massively multiplayer online game on PC! You'll collaborate with designers and other disciplines to build engaging, memorable gameplay experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with game designers to understand the overall vision for a system
  • Develop and test code for new systems and augment existing systems
  • Solve complex technical problems across game engine, tools, and live-service systems
  • Work with QA to help develop test plans for and debug a system
  • Tune and fix bugs in existing game-level systems as required to enhance the game
  • Provide reliable and accurate time estimates for tasks
  • Document systems thoroughly, both in terms of design and implementation
  • Participate in code reviews to help maintain code quality across the team
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the manager

Qualifications

  • Interest in working on the game user interface and game systems
  • 4-7+ years of programming experience, gaming industry experience preferred
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with advanced knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and optimization
  • Proficient working on a variety of systems in the realms of game engine, tools, game support services and the games themselves
  • Debugging, including post-mortem debugging
  • Experience working in C++ and SQL
  • Able to collaborate with other engineers and other non-technical team members, including as game teams, customer service and ops
