GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Data Analytics Supervisor leads the analytics team responsible for producing accurate, timely, and actionable data insigts that support the Florida Lottery’s mission to maximize contributions to education while ensuring public trust, integrity, and compliance. This position oversees analytical operations, ensures adherence to state and Lottery policies, and works closely with program leaders to enhance performance, improve operational efficiency, and support strategic initiatives. This role manages daily operations of the analytics team, ensures the accuracy and integrity of analytical work, and partners with business leaders to translate data into actionable recommendations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Each employee is expected to be knowledgeable of the Lottery’s Responsible Gaming program, including the No Underage Play and Play Within Your Means messaging, and will ensure retailers and players are aware of the program and provided information, as necessary.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop a team of data analysts, providing guidance on analytical methods, tools, and best practices.
  • Provides consultation and technical assistance to software development team and functional users.
  • Develops and implements policies and procedures related to data governance, standards, and best practices.
  • Creates and maintains data models, data dictionaries, and data catalogs.
  • Creates database objects, indexed files and other related files as required.
  • Develops and implements processes to correct discrepancies and ensure data quality.
  • Implements a data retention strategy and ensures adherence to approved policy.
  • Acts as subject matter expert on enterprise data sources, metrics definitions, and analytics platform.
  • Determines security and control procedures for data stores.
  • Audits databases regularly to maintain adherence to guidelines.
  • Research and evaluate sources of information to determine limitations in reliability or usability.
  • Compare and analyze statistical information to identify patterns, relationships, and problems.
  • Improve analytics processes and methodologies, driving automation and standardization where appropriate.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, including data privacy, security, accessibility, and records management requirements.
  • Collaborate with program areas to understand analytical needs, define requirements, and develop data products that improve service delivery and operational efficiency.
  • Lead data migration efforts from legacy systems to new solutions.
  • Perform administrative duties including submission of timesheets, performance planning, and evaluations.
  • Provide necessary assistance to the Computer Systems Operations Manager, the Orlando Data Center Shift Supervisor, and the COOP Coordinator in the development, implementation, maintenance, and testing of the Lottery’s Information Technology Disaster Recovery Plan (ITDRP) and Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP).
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
