Job description

Analytics Lead / Data Scientist – Gaming Focus
Onsite | South Palm Beach County
W2-FTE GC USC

We are seeking a highly agile Analytics Lead / Data Scientist to turn game and player data into decisions that directly improve game performance and business outcomes.

This is an analytics-led role, not an ML engineering, MLOps, or model-deployment position. The right person combines strong statistical and technical skills with sharp business judgment — someone who can think critically about data, not just run models.

What Success Looks Like

This role is ideal for someone who can look at data, recognize what matters, and explain what the business should do next. We are looking for someone who can answer:

  • What are players doing?
  • Why is performance changing?
  • Which experiment worked?
  • Where is the opportunity?
  • What should Game Design or Leadership do next?

We are not looking for someone whose primary experience is building models, deploying AI systems, or managing MLOps pipelines.

What You'll Own

  • Define, track, and continuously improve game and business KPIs
  • Build and evolve dashboards used daily by Game Design and Leadership
  • Analyze player behavior, game performance, retention, engagement, and monetization trends
  • Design and interpret A/B tests and other experiments
  • Identify anomalies, risks, and opportunities quickly
  • Translate complex data into clear recommendations and business decisions
  • Partner closely with Game Designers, Product, and Management in a rapid-iteration environment
  • Structure and maintain the underlying data architecture needed for reliable reporting and analysis

What We're Looking For

  • Strong analytical instincts and independent problem-solving ability — able to think critically about data, not just execute models
  • Demonstrated experience using data to influence product or business decisions
  • Experience owning KPIs, not simply reporting them
  • Strong background in data architecture and data analysis — structuring, organizing, and maintaining reliable data environments in support of business reporting
  • Hands-on exposure to machine learning and LLM technologies, applied with clear business judgment about when and why to use them
  • Comfort working with incomplete, evolving, or imperfect data
  • Strong SQL skills
  • Proficiency with Tableau or Power BI, Excel, and Python or R
  • Experience with A/B testing, experimentation, and performance measurement
  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field

Nice to Have

  • Experience analyzing gaming, casino, online-player, consumer-product, or other behavioral data
  • Familiarity with slot-game metrics or game-performance analytics
  • Snowflake or similar modern cloud data-platform experience
  • Master's degree for senior-level candidates
