Summary:

Bluberi is seeking a highly motivated individual who has a passion for visual art, entertainment products, and slot machines to be part of our Las Vegas Studio team.

The Game Artist III sets the visual direction for slot game development from concept, design, illustration, animation, UI and interface visuals, symbols, backgrounds, characters, and marketing assets that meet the product requirements. They use skills in graphic design and visual arts to create game assets for interactive gaming experiences. They collaborate with cross-functional teams to craft novel features, themes, and characters while meeting high internal standards and product requirements.

Essential Functions:

Sets & Executes Visual Direction

  • Expected to significantly inform and shape visual direction with domain leads. Ensures consistent and effective execution of visual direction.
  • Independently contributes to early design efforts with theme exploration, competitive research, and development of paper prototypes and storyboards.

Creative & Collaborative Art Development

  • Use professional skills in graphic design, typography, illustration, digital painting, animation and other visual arts to create production assets. Demonstrates expert knowledge of creative software to make content. Informs best practices for the art domain.
  • Collaborate with development teams and supporting departments for effective iteration of game assets and their optimized integration into the Unity platform. Adhere to established best practices.
  • Communicate integration requirements to the development team.
  • Actively seek and incorporate feedback from domain leads and stakeholders.
  • Enable game development teams to deliver on schedule with timely iteration, accurate effort scoping, and time estimation.

Support Game Marketing & Promotion

  • Provide support to Product, Marketing, and Sales teams to hit business objectives, showcase products at tradeshows, and enable excellent customer service.

Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Visual Arts or equivalent field or relevant professional experience. 5+ years of creative art development.
  • Can effectively use creative software tools to make game-ready assets. Demonstrate professional skill with Adobe Creative Cloud tools including Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects. Demonstrate proficiency in technical art applications.
  • Experience in Spine and 3D and Ai advantageous
  • Good verbal and written communication skills. Can modulate information to different development domains. Demonstrates effective presentation skills.
  • Strong people skills. Works well with creative conflict in a consensus-based, collaborative environment.
  • Shows dedication to continuous learning and contributes to improving the studio and organization. Spends regular time on self-improvement that provides value to the organization.

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • Demonstrates and champions Bluberi values around teamwork, ownership, and transparency.
  • Experience with slot development or video game development is preferred. Advanced knowledge of casino gaming players is preferred.
  • Advanced experience with Unity tools and engine preferred.

About the Team:

The New Studio in Las Vegas is responsible for the development of entertaining land-based slot machines. The studio is part of Bluberi's R&D department, which includes other development teams in the US and Canada. Our game development teams are comprised of enthusiastic and experienced professionals across multiple disciplines including mathematics, visual arts, software engineering, game design, audio engineering, and quality assurance. We work in a hybrid model to ensure effective iteration of creative content on target hardware while providing personal flexibility and work efficiency.

Employment at Will

Employment at Bluberi is on an at-will basis unless otherwise stated in a written individual employment agreement signed by Bluberi’s CEO. Employment Classification

To determine eligibility for benefits and overtime status and to ensure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations, Bluberi uses the following classifications. Employment classifications are based on the guidelines of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and, as circumstances dictate, Bluberi may review or change employment classifications at any time.

Exempt: Exempt Team members are paid on a salary basis and are not eligible to receive overtime pay.

Non-exempt: Non-exempt Team members are paid on an hourly basis and are eligible to receive overtime pay for overtime hours worked.

Regular, full time: Team members who are not in a temporary status and work a minimum of 30 hours weekly and maintain continuous employment status. These Team members are eligible for the full-time benefits package and are subject to the terms, conditions, and limitations of each benefits program.

Regular, part time: Team members who are not in a temporary status and who are regularly scheduled to work less than 30 hours weekly, but at least 20 hours weekly, and who maintain continuous employment status. Part-time Team members are eligible for some of the benefits offered by the company and are subject to the terms, conditions, and limitations of each benefits program.

Temporary, full-time: Individuals who are hired as interim workers to temporarily supplement the workforce or to assist in the completion of a specific project and who are temporarily scheduled to work the company’s full-time schedule for a limited duration.
