Job description

Freedom Technology Solutions Group is seeking a highly skilled Systems Administrator to support one of our partners in delivering secure, resilient, and mission-critical capabilities across a complex environment. This project assists in the delivery of regional IT services to the end user offering support of end user devices including desktop, workplace peripherals, and voice and video devices. This role requires independent and team-based execution, proactive analysis to identify root causes, and the ability to support resilient infrastructure solutions.
This position is eligible for a $10k Welcome Bonus to be paid out in increments of $5k after 90 days and $5k after a year!
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Administer, maintain, and optimize enterprise IT systems across Windows and Linux environments to ensure high availability, performance, and security
  • Monitor system health, troubleshoot complex issues, and resolve incidents across client, server, storage, network, and mobile platforms
  • Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support, including problem identification, diagnosis, escalation, and resolution of IT-related issues
  • Support day-to-day operations, including system configuration, patching, and maintenance of hardware and software components
  • Manage and maintain system documentation, including SOPs, system guides, configurations, and ticketing/work logs
  • Support helpdesk operations by tracking, documenting, and resolving user requests and system issues in a timely manner
  • Assist users with system access, functionality, and troubleshooting to ensure effective use of IT resources
  • Implement, troubleshoot, and maintain IT systems in alignment with operational and mission requirements
  • Analyze system performance, optimize resource utilization, and support capacity planning efforts
  • Configure and maintain operating systems and network components, implementing enhancements to improve reliability and performance
  • Support escalation processes and provide timely status updates to stakeholders and leadership
  • Provide detailed analysis and reporting for complex or recurring issues to drive resolution and continuous improvement
  • Support hardware dispatch and remain engaged through full lifecycle resolution of system issues

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and 4 years of relevant System Administrator experience OR 8+ years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
  • Active Security Clearance with Polygraph.
  • Proven experience administering Windows and/or Linux-based systems in enterprise or mission environments
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across infrastructure components (servers, networks, storage, endpoints)

Desired:
  • Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) or Trusted Linux variants
  • Familiarity with Windows 10/Enterprise environments
  • Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware)
  • Background supporting systems in classified or high-security environments
