Job description

Who We Are:

At M Booth, we produce award-winning, culturally-resonant, and buzz-worthy campaigns that move key audiences to action.

We are relentlessly passionate about our clients and their business, whether that means developing scrappy campaigns and content that breaks through, maximizing earned to reach key audiences, leading in digital innovation, or unleashing insights that unlock ideas that win in the marketplace. And we have a bold belief that our work can and should contribute to an equitable world.

Our agency was born 40 years ago with entrepreneurial roots, a people-first culture, and a passion for creativity and innovation. As we look to the future we believe Only the Bold will make a lasting impact and change. From culture to creative, in today's world BOLD moves everything we do.

Role Overview

M Booth is looking for a social-native, video-first Mid-Level Video Editor & Motion Animator to join our team. Your primary focus will be pacing, storytelling, and cutting high-performing short-form video for platforms like TikTok and YouTube Shorts. While also supporting lightly on other channels and digital spaces.

While core video editing is your main strength, you will also leverage dynamic motion graphics-kinetic typography, animated overlays, light 2D animation, and UI elements-to elevate brand storytelling.

Under the guidance of the Art Director, you will strike the perfect balance between high-end design sensibilities and raw social-first authenticity, helping us "stretch" our client's traditional visual guidelines to capture the hearts and attention of specific brand audiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • TikTok-First Editing & Narrative Pacing: Edit high-retention vertical video formats (TikTok and YouTube Shorts) optimized for native platform behaviors. You know how to command attention in the first 3 seconds, structure high-utility "show, don't tell" walkthroughs, and design seamless loops.
  • Social Motion Graphics & Animation: Design and animate platform-native overlays, custom teacher-centric stickers, kinetic typography, lower thirds, and transitions that make unscripted, raw videos feel cohesive, premium, and highly social-native.
  • "The Revolution Approach" Brand Translation: Work with the design team to stretch brand's visual guidelines into unpolished, creator-style typography and visual assets that make videos feel native to the organic feed.
  • Sound Design & Audio Curation: Source, edit, and blend trending audio tracks, native sound effects (SFX), and clear voiceover tracks to drive algorithmic lift and structural rhythm.
  • Accessibility & "Creating for Everyone" Integration: Ensure 100% accessibility compliance across all vertical assets, including designing custom, high-contrast, burned-in captions, visual framing that respects safe zones, and alt-text layouts.
  • Existing Channels Support: While TikTok/Shorts is your priority, you will provide secondary support to our Existing Channels Team (Facebook, LinkedIn, and X) to polish and animate clean video assets for those communities.
  • Agile Team Collaboration: Work in a highly integrated, sprint-based workflow alongside our dedicated team of Art Directors, Designers and Strategists.
  • Brainstorm and collaborate on conceptual creative solutions for big and small campaigns
  • Produce video/motion requests for appropriate account leads, meeting strict deadlines, and prioritizing requests
  • Ability to articulate creative choices to fellow designers, account team members, and clients
  • Stay current on art trends, social media visual guidelines and specs, digital design, etc.
  • Participate in the growth of the team
Qualifications & Core Requirements
  • Social-Native Portfolio: 4+ years of professional video editing and motion graphics experience at a creative agency or brand, with a portfolio heavily showcasing high-performing organic vertical video content (TikTok, Shorts, Reels).
  • Technical Tool Mastery: Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and mobile-first editing platforms like CapCut. Experience with modern AI workflow tools is a major plus.
  • Production Adaptability: Skilled in working with both high-fidelity agency assets and completely raw, unscripted UGC, elevating both to look effortlessly native.
  • Collaborative Spirit: Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment alongside client-side stakeholders and partner agencies to ensure organic video wins are quickly prepped and optimized for paid.
  • Operational Agility: Experience working in fast-paced agency environments with cross-agency sync pipelines.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of post-production workflows, color correction/grading, audio balancing/mixing, and video encoding standards.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent time management, receptivity to creative feedback/edits, strong communication skills, and a collaborative mindset.

What We'll Bring:

Here are a few highlights of the benefits we offer at M Booth:

  • A workplace that's alive with courage, ideas, respect and humanity
  • Professional growth and development programs to help advance your career
  • Comprehensive health care and wellness plans for your entire family
  • A 401(k) Savings Plan and Flexible Spending Accounts
  • Paid holidays, Unlimited Paid Time Off (Personal, Sick, Vacation), and Summer Fridays
  • Additional Perks: Family Leave, Well-Being Programs, and Commuter Benefits
  • SALARY: $51,000-74,000

(New hires are typically brought into the organization between the minimum to midpoint of the salary range posted depending on qualifications, internal equity, and the budgeted amount for the role.)

Location: New York office

Our Flexible Work Policy:

We believe that our best work happens in a hybrid working environment. If you are in the NYC (or commutable surrounding distance) hub we want to see you in person 2 days a week. That could mean in our office, in our client's office, on the road with them or attending an industry event.
