About the Role

Tire Rack is seeking an experienced and creative Senior Video Editor to lead post-production efforts for high-visibility video projects that support our brand, products, and customer experience. This role is responsible for transforming raw footage into compelling visual stories while ensuring every project meets the highest creative, technical, and brand standards. Serving as a trusted post-production expert, the Senior Video Editor exercises independent creative and technical judgment while guiding projects from concept through final delivery with minimal oversight.

The ideal candidate combines advanced editorial expertise with strong leadership and a passion for mentoring others. Beyond producing exceptional video content, this position establishes and elevates editing standards, refines post-production workflows, and collaborates with producers, videographers, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure every project reflects Tire Rack's commitment to quality, consistency, and innovation.

What You'll Do:

 

Video Editing & Post-Production

  • Lead the editing of complex and high-visibility video projects from raw footage through final delivery, ensuring exceptional storytelling, pacing, structure, and creative execution.
  • Exercise independent creative and technical judgment to make advanced editorial decisions while maintaining alignment with project goals and brand standards.
  • Apply advanced color correction, color grading, compositing, visual effects, layering, and masking techniques to produce polished, high-quality content.
  • Design and develop motion graphics, titles, and visual effects that enhance storytelling and elevate production value.
  • Execute professional audio editing, mixing, and sound design to ensure exceptional clarity and production quality.
  • Manipulate still imagery and graphic assets using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator for seamless integration into video projects.

Creative Leadership

  • Establish, maintain, and continuously elevate editing standards that ensure consistency, technical excellence, and brand alignment across all video content.
  • Serve as a trusted creative and technical resource by reviewing edits from other team members and providing constructive feedback that strengthens overall editorial quality.
  • Mentor and coach editors through technical instruction, creative guidance, and hands-on collaboration to support professional development and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with producers, videographers, and cross-functional stakeholders to interpret creative direction and deliver compelling visual stories that achieve business objectives.

Editorial Excellence & Workflow Improvement

  • Manage multiple concurrent editing projects while balancing priorities and consistently delivering high-quality work on schedule.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex creative and technical post-production challenges with minimal oversight.
  • Investigate and implement workflow improvements, editing standards, and process enhancements that increase efficiency, scalability, and consistency across the post-production team.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on post-production best practices and emerging editing technologies.

Quality Assurance

  • Audit final deliverables to ensure they meet technical specifications, creative intent, brand standards, and platform requirements.
  • Take ownership of maintaining the highest level of editorial quality across all assigned projects while helping raise quality expectations throughout the team.

What We're Looking For:

 

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of five (5) years of professional video editing and post-production experience, with a proven track record of delivering complex, high-quality video content.
  • Portfolio or demo reel required. Applicants must provide a link to a portfolio, demo reel, or online work samples with their application. Work samples should demonstrate advanced video editing and post-production capabilities, including storytelling, pacing, color grading, motion graphics, compositing, visual effects, and audio mixing. Samples should reflect experience contributing to complex, high-visibility, commercial, branded, or similarly professional productions.
  • Demonstrated expertise in advanced video editing, color correction and grading, compositing, visual effects, audio mixing, motion graphics, and post-production finishing workflows.
  • Advanced proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, including Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
  • Strong understanding of post-production workflows, including media management, codecs, color pipelines, and delivery specifications.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently make creative and technical decisions while aligning with brand standards and business objectives.
  • Experience mentoring or coaching editors while providing constructive, actionable feedback.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex creative and technical challenges with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with experience partnering with producers, videographers, designers, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining exceptional quality across all deliverables.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish best practices, improve workflows, and elevate editorial quality across a creative team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience improving post-production workflows and implementing process enhancements.
  • Experience producing content for e-commerce, digital marketing, or commercial advertising.
  • Knowledge of emerging video production technologies, AI-assisted editing tools, and evolving industry best practices.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Film Production, Video Production, Media Arts, Communications, or a related field is required. Relevant certifications or specialized training in video editing, motion graphics, color grading, or post-production workflows are preferred.
