Job description

RiVidium Inc. is seeking a skilled Video Teleconference (VTC) Engineer ? Level 1 to support the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) enterprise environment. This role is responsible for the design, implementation, operation, maintenance, and support of enterprise video conferencing and unified communications systems supporting mission-critical operations.

Position Summary

The VTC Engineer ? Level 1 serves as a technical lead supporting enterprise Video Teleconference (VTC) and unified communications infrastructure for the NCIS IT enterprise. This role is responsible for ensuring the availability, security, and performance of mission-critical collaboration systems across a large-scale federal environment.

The position focuses on engineering, integration, troubleshooting, and modernization of VTC and VoIP systems while ensuring compliance with DoD and Department of the Navy (DON) security standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Configure, administer, and maintain enterprise VTC infrastructure, including Cisco VTC endpoints and related collaboration systems
  • Design and implement call routing architectures to ensure reliable internal and external video communications
  • Troubleshoot complex VTC, VoIP, and unified communications issues across enterprise and conference room environments
  • Support interoperability with external government agencies and mission partners
  • Conduct technology evaluations, market research, and participate in technical design reviews and stakeholder briefings
  • Collaborate with contractor, government personnel, and vendors to define requirements and implement solutions
  • Develop technical documentation, reports, and presentations for stakeholders at all levels
  • Monitor emerging technologies in cloud-based collaboration and unified communications platforms
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior VTC personnel as required
  • Ensure compliance with DoD/DON security policies, standards, and operational guidelines

Minimum Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI clearance required at contract start
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in VTC/VoIP engineering, including 2+ years in enterprise VTC environments
  • Strong experience supporting data center and virtualized infrastructure environments
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver strong customer service across technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Advanced knowledge of VTC and VoIP technologies, including cloud and hybrid collaboration platforms

Technical Experience Required

  • Windows Server administration and configuration
  • Linux operating systems
  • VMware virtualization platforms
  • Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM)
  • Enterprise VTC and unified communications systems
  • Call routing design and implementation for video collaboration environments

Additional Requirements

  • Experience working in government or contractor-led environments
  • Ability to provide technical direction and oversight to junior personnel
  • Experience interfacing with vendors and cross-functional technical teams
  • Must meet DoD 8570.01-M baseline requirements and maintain required certifications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud collaboration platforms:
    • Microsoft Teams (Teams Rooms, Teams Phone, Teams Admin Center)
    • Cisco Webex (Webex Devices, Webex Calling, Control Hub)
  • Experience supporting DoD, DoN, or classified environments
  • Knowledge of DISA STIGs and security hardening practices
  • Experience with Cisco VTC hardware (Room Series, SX/MX/DX endpoints)
  • Familiarity with Cisco TelePresence Management Suite (TMS)
  • Understanding of H.323, SIP, and ISDN protocols
  • Experience with Poly/Polycom VTC systems
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers
  • Experience evaluating enterprise VTC/AV technologies
  • Familiarity with DISA Defense Collaboration Services (DCS) or equivalent platforms

Certifications

Required / Baseline

  • CompTIA Security+ CE (DoD 8570 IAT Level II)
