Full-Time | In-Office with Some Remote Flexibility | Tampa, Florida | Periodic U.S. Travel

Merlin Law Group is seeking an exceptional Senior Executive Content Producer to work directly with founder and president, Chip Merlin.

This is not a traditional social media role. We are looking for an experienced storyteller and hands-on producer who can recognize compelling ideas, find the right angle and turn them into exceptional content.

For more than four decades, Chip has represented policyholders in significant property insurance disputes. He is also an author, speaker, media commentator, blogger, podcast host, business leader and competitive offshore sailor. The range of his work creates a unique opportunity for someone who knows how to spot a great story and bring it to life.

The Role

You will work closely with Chip to identify and develop content across legal thought leadership, media, business, leadership and other professional interests.

Some opportunities will be planned. Others will happen in the moment - after a speech, during an industry event, through a conversation with an attorney or when an important issue emerges. You should have the editorial instincts to recognize what is worth pursuing and the production skills to make something exceptional from it.

You will:

  • Write, edit and produce compelling content for professional audiences.
  • Interview Chip, Merlin Law Group attorneys, and others to draw out strong ideas and stories.
  • Produce high-quality video and photography, including camera, lighting and audio setup and video editing.
  • Adapt strong ideas across written, video, audio and digital formats.
  • Manage an editorial calendar and maintain a consistent production rhythm.
  • Take projects from concept through finished publication with a high degree of ownership and initiative.
What We're Looking For

This role requires more than technical production skills. You will regularly interact with attorneys, executives, clients, journalists and industry professionals, so strong judgment, intellectual curiosity and professional confidence are essential.

Strong candidates will demonstrate:

  • Exceptional writing, editing, interviewing and storytelling skills.
  • Strong hands-on video production and editing experience.
  • Excellent editorial judgment and an instinct for identifying compelling content opportunities.
  • Professional maturity and confidence working with executives and sophisticated professional audiences.
  • Strong organization, initiative and the ability to move projects independently from idea through completion.
  • Sound judgment involving legal, ethical, reputational and confidentiality considerations.

Candidates may come from journalism, television or digital production, documentary storytelling, sports or business media, executive content or sophisticated brand storytelling. Experience in law or property insurance is not required.

We care less about your previous title than the quality of your work and your ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving, professional environment.

Why This Opportunity Is Different

You will have direct access to a nationally recognized attorney, author and industry voice, meaningful creative ownership and the resources of an established national law firm.

The position is based in Tampa, reports directly to Chip Merlin and works collaboratively with Merlin Law Group's Marketing and Business Development teams and other internal resources.

We are looking for someone who notices the stories and ideas others miss, and has the skill, judgment and discipline to turn them into exceptional finished work.

Merlin Law Group is an equal employment opportunity employer and is committed to providing equal employment opportunity to all qualified persons without regard to such factors as race, color, sex, religion, national origin, age, disability, marital status, gender identity/expression, sexual orientation, genetic information, or any other protected status, consistent with federal, state, and local equal employment opportunity laws.
