Occupational Summary
The STARBASE Office Manager is responsible for organizing, maintaining, and coordinating office operations and procedures that provide organizational effectiveness and efficiency. This position manages Department of Defense (DoD) school data, records, correspondences, inspection files, as well as handling a variety of administrative support tasks.
NOTE: The STARBASE Program is funded by the Department of Defense. Annual appointments are subject to annual reauthorization of federal funds. Continued appointments are contingent upon the availability of funding.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assists in the overall day-to-day duties as assigned by the Program Director
  • Prepares and modifies classroom files
  • Coordinates the scheduling of classrooms and maintains modifications to schedule, promptly notifying staff as changes occur
  • Maintains the student database including but not limited to changes/corrections, certificates, attendance lists, class lists, etc.
  • Inputs and maintains data for student, teacher, and parental assessments
  • Coordinates with schools for required documentation including, but not limited to, applications, enrollment forms, data collection, and schedule changes
  • Receives and distributes mail
  • Maintains and orders all supplies and equipment as approved by the Program Director
  • Prepares outgoing deliveries and accepts incoming deliveries; processes and stocks incoming deliveries, ensuring correct items and quantities
  • Coordinates with appropriate personnel for repairs or maintenance issues that require immediate attention
  • Assists instructional set-up and clean-up as needed
  • Assists with classroom instruction as needed
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in education or a STEM field from a regionally accredited institution of higher education.
One (1) year classroom experience in education.
Ability to obtain/maintain base access for MCAS Cherry Point.
Ability to pass security and background checks required by DoDI 1402.05.
Preferred:
Experience with Adobe Suite.
