Position Summary
The Vice President (VP) of Fitness is a senior executive who drives the strategic vision, operational excellence, and financial success of an organization's fitness business unit. They oversee multi-unit programs, develop innovative wellness and personal training offerings, and lead high-performing teams to elevate member engagement, personal training department, retention, and revenue.
Responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
  • Strategic Leadership: Shape the overarching strategy for fitness operations, evaluating new business opportunities, market trends, and digital platform integration.
  • Financial Management: Oversee the operational P&L, manage departmental budgets, and drive revenue growth across personal training, specialty programming, and memberships.
  • Operational Excellence: Establish gold-standard benchmarks for service delivery, facility cleanliness, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Team Development: Mentor regional, area, and club-level leaders, fostering a high-performance culture that attracts and retains top-tier fitness talent.
  • Member Experience: Monitor feedback loops and Net Promoter Scores (NPS) to continuously refine programming and foster a highly engaged community.
  • Drive revenue growth by designing, pricing, and scaling high-performing personal training and specialty programming across all locations.
  • Establish, monitor, and enforce operational policies, quality standards, and financial forecasts for all fitness business units.
  • Analyze market trends and implement innovative digital offerings and equipment updates to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Evaluate new business opportunities, strategic alliances, and potential acquisitions to expand organizational reach.

Team Leadership & Development
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire Area Managers, Fitness Managers, and club-level teams to foster a culture of accountability and high performance.
  • Align team goals with overall company vision and set clear key performance indicators (KPIs) for fitness staff.

Member Experience & Operations
  • Ensure an exceptional member experience that maximizes retention, engagement, and overall satisfaction.
  • Maintain clean and safe operating conditions across all facilities, ensuring strict compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Gather and analyze member feedback and usage metrics to continuously refine services and programming.

Executive & Multi-Location Leadership
