Job description

American Express National Bank seeks Vice Presidents, Risk Management to lead risk management transformation initiatives from initiation to completion, ensuring delivery within defined scope, budget, and timelines. 

Position requires a Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Financial Engineering, or a related field, and 4 years of experience with providing strategic guidance on risk management and governance implementation and enhancements, and regulatory audit strategies. Experience must also include 4 years of experience with each of the following: developing risk management frameworks, policies and procedures related to risk governance, risk appetite, risk oversight; defining the requirements for the identification, measurement, and monitoring of risks, establishing roles and responsibilities; regulatory requirements for financial institutions, including the OCC Heightened Standards, Regulation YY, and Tailoring Rules, as well as corresponding requirements for Domestic and Foreign Banking Organizations, FDIC Deposits Insurance guidelines, and Dodd Frank Act; defining risk appetite metrics, limits, and escalation thresholds based on back testing while ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements, company strategy, and business growth expectations; operating risk management processes within the three lines of defense model, including performing end-to-end process reviews and providing credible challenge on the risk-taking processes related to both financial and non-financial risk management activities; working in cross-functional and cross-border teams in risk management; translating complex analyses for technical and non-technical audiences, including senior risk leadership, risk management committees, Board committees, internal audit, and regulatory agencies; leveraging data analytics and visualization tools, including Python, SAS, Power BI, SQL, and VBA; designing risk management processes, including robust controls to mitigate process risks, including inherent risk, residual risk, process risk self-assessments, and controls testing; and utilizing statistical and econometric methods, including linear regression models, Value at Risk, Monte Carloe simulation, stress testing and scenario analysis, and economic capital. Telecommuting is available up to 2 days per week.
