About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking an Investment Banking Vice President within our Mergers & Acquisitions group in New York City or Charlotte. In this role you will drive and support transaction execution across a variety of industry verticals including Consumer/Retail, Financial Institutions, Healthcare, Industrials, Power & Energy, Technology/Media/Telecom and Real Estate & Gaming.

In this role, you will:

  • Be responsible for independently working with clients and handling complex transactions.

  • Demonstrate well-developed knowledge of the entire suite of M&A products and services including buy-sides, sell-sides, carve-outs, spin offs, fairness opinions and activism & defense; this position is directly involved in the origination and execution for existing clients and prospects.

  • Assist or drive the delivery of full range of M&A products and services to clients at the executive management level, managing client relationships, and executing mandated assignments.

  • Participate in analyzing companies, develop strategies for clients, analyzing market and industry research across the M&A product suite

  • Develop and train Investment Banking Analysts and Associates in M&A valuation and processes

  • Demonstrate high level of initiative and the ability to work within a fast-paced team environment. You must bring strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Precise attention to detail is essential. You must demonstrate a habit of learning and mastering complex material and a practiced ability to communicate the same.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Investment Banking experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • M&A execution including significant experience in large cap public M&A transactions

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Strong track record of originating and executing M&A transactions, particularly buy-sides

  • Ability to lead junior staff and manage several simultaneous transactions and projects at once

  • Highly developed writing skills

  • Ability to make timely and independent judgment decisions while working in a fast-paced and results-driven environment

  • Knowledge and understanding of business development: business vision, strategies, and goals application to the technology client universe

  • Ability to train and mentor junior talent

Job Expectations:

  • Registration for Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted

  • Registration for FINRA Series 63 (or 66) must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted

  • Registration for FINRA Series 7 (or 79) must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted

  • This position is subject to FINRA background screening requirements. Candidates must successfully complete and pass a background check prior to hire. In accordance with FINRA rules, individuals who are subject to statutory disqualification are not eligible to be associated with a FINRA-registered broker-dealer. Successful candidates must also meet and comply with ongoing regulatory obligations, which include periodic screening and mandatory reporting of certain incidents.

  • Specific compliance policies may apply regarding outside activities or personal investing; affected employees will be expected to provide information to the Wells Fargo Personal Account Dealing Team and abide by applicable policy requirements if hired. Information will be shared about expectations during the recruitment process.

  • Ability to work long hours in a demanding, highly focused collaborative and fast paced team environment with a sense of personal accountability and urgency for achieving results

  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.
