Senior Mixed-Signal PMIC Validation Engineer

Location: Waltham, MA, US, 02451

Eta Wireless is solving the fundamental problem of RF power amplifier power consumption in communications devices. We pioneered Digital Envelope Tracking (DET) technology and have since been acquired by Murata Manufacturing in September 2021. Eta is a multi-disciplinary, multi-national team of engineers with expertise spanning RF systems, power electronics, integrated circuits, embedded systems, software, algorithms, and module design. The breadth of expertise allows us to solve challenging problems with creative and disruptive solutions at tier-one customers.

Why Consider This Job Opportunity

The Senior Mixed-Signal PMIC Validation Engineer supports the development of advanced power management ICs for wireless infrastructure applications. This role will contribute to both pre-silicon analog mixed-signal verification and post-silicon bring-up, characterization, validation, and debug.

The ideal candidate combines strong analog and mixed-signal fundamentals with experience in simulation, behavioral modeling, laboratory measurements, test automation, and cross-functional product development. This role offers opportunities to grow into full-chip verification and validation ownership, product technical leadership, and broader system-level responsibility.

Workplace Policy

Hybrid from Waltham, MA.

What To Expect (Essential Job Responsibilities)

  • Develop and execute pre-silicon verification and post-silicon validation plans for mixed-signal power management ICs.

  • Create and maintain analog mixed-signal testbenches for block-, subsystem-, and top-level verification.

  • Develop and use behavioral models, including Verilog-A and real-number models, to support efficient mixed-signal simulation.

  • Assist in silicon bring-up, functional validation, and electrical characterization.

  • Assist in automating simulations, laboratory measurements, regression testing, and data analysis using Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW, or similar tools.

  • Correlate simulation results and behavioral models with bench measurements, specifications, and production test data.

  • Investigate design, silicon, board, firmware, and measurement issues through structured root-cause analysis.

  • Collaborate with analog, digital, verification, firmware, systems, applications, test, quality, and product engineering teams.

  • Contribute to reusable verification environments, validation infrastructure, coverage improvement, and product readiness reviews.

What Is Required (Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.

  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience.

  • Experience in analog mixed-signal verification, post-silicon validation, characterization, applications engineering, product engineering, or mixed-signal hardware development.

  • Strong understanding of power electronics, analog mixed-signal, and feedback-control fundamentals.

  • Experience with circuit simulation, mixed-signal testbenches, and verification methodologies.

  • Proficiency with Verilog, SystemVerilog, Verilog-AMS, Verilog-A, real-number modeling, or similar behavioral modeling techniques.

  • Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, power supplies, electronic loads, signal generators, precision meters, and related laboratory equipment.

  • Proactive and methodical problem-solving skills, taking ownership of complex technical issues.

  • Ability to use simulation, measurement, and data analysis to guide engineering decisions.

  • Comfortable working across pre-silicon verification and post-silicon validation and collaborates effectively across analog, digital, software, and product engineering disciplines.

How To Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Experience with PMICs, Switching Power Converters DC-DC regulators, supply modulators, gate drivers, or related power-conversion architectures.

  • Experience developing compact behavioral models that balance simulation accuracy and performance.

  • Experience with control-loop stability, transient response, noise, thermal characterization, or statistical analysis.

  • Familiarity with SPI, I²C, UART, or similar serial digital interfaces.
