The Role at a Glance

As the VP, Participant Engagement, you will be a strategic, forward-thinking leader to transform and scale our Retirement Consultant model, delivering measurable participant outcomes while driving asset growth and broader adoption of workplace retirement wellness and individual solutions. You will lead a national team focused on improving participant outcomes, maximizing plan participation, increasing savings rates and driving asset retention. You will also leverage AI, automation, and digital capabilities to expand reach, personalize experiences, and enhance team effectiveness.

What you'll be doing

   Sets the strategic vision and operating model for the Retirement Consultant organization to deliver personalized, scalable engagement that improves participant outcomes
   Advances education related to retirement readiness and financial decision-making that translates into action, improving savings rates, financial literacy, asset consolidation, and retirement preparedness
   Drives asset retention and expansion, including IRA rollovers, plan roll-ins, and account consolidation, building a strategy to expand scope of team to support selling retail retirement income solutions (i.e, annuities) and adoption of voluntary benefits
   Deploys data, AI, and digital tools (e.g., next-best action, personalization, workflow automation) to scale reach, effectiveness, and efficiency
   Lead and develop a national retirement consultant team with strong capabilities in participant education, engagement, and retirement-related conversations. Leverage data to share strategic recommendations and future engagement strategies
   Partners across product and distribution to increase adoption of retirement plan features, managed accounts, financial wellness programs, and retail retirement income solutions
   Acts as a thought leader on participant behavior, engagement strategies, and retirement trends to inform business and product direction

What we're looking for

Must-haves:
   12+ Years experience in retirement plan services that directly relates to the responsibilities
   5 years of managerial, supervisory, and/or demonstrated leadership experience including influencing senior management
   Proven success leading and scaling participant engagement or client-facing models 
   Deep expertise in defined contribution plans, participant education, and retirement income concepts
   Demonstrated ability to drive asset growth (rollovers, retention, consolidation)
   Experience leveraging AI, automation, and digital tools to enhance engagement and scale
   Strong executive presence and ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders
   FINRA SIE, S6, S63 within 90 days of hire (pre-registration preferred)
   Life & Health within 90 days of hire (pre-licensed preferred)
   Ability to travel 30%

The pay range for this position is $275,000 - $350,000 with anticipated pay for new hires between the minimum and midpoint of the range and could vary above and below the listed range as permitted by applicable law. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln's total rewards package for employees.  In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual.  Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln's standard benefits package.
