Job description

This role is based in Indianapolis, IN and reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer, with a dotted-line relationship to the Division President.

The Central Division’s Vice President, Finance serves as the senior financial leader for the Division, partnering closely with operations and commercial leadership to drive performance, strategic growth, and disciplined capital allocation. The role is responsible for financial planning and analysis, strategy and corporate development, data and analytics, compliance, and enterprise-level initiatives.

Key Responsibilities FP&A and Compliance
  • Lead the Division’s financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning processes
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the Division President and CFO on all financial and reporting-related matters
  • Provide oversight of the monthly and quarterly close processes, including review of financial results, variance analysis, and identification of key business drivers
  • Partner with Division leadership to deliver actionable insights, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities to improve performance
  • Serve as the primary liaison with Corporate Accounting on financial reporting matters and key accounting judgments
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and Company accounting policies, as well as adherence to internal controls and audit requirements
  • Oversee sales audit and credit functions, ensuring disciplined working capital management and process integrity
Strategy and Corporate Development
  • Lead the Division’s strategic planning and growth agenda, including M&A, land acquisitions, and growth capex initiatives
  • Oversee the full M&A lifecycle, including due diligence, valuation, negotiation, and integration
  • Partner with Regional and District leadership to execute strategic initiatives, including portfolio optimization, KPI management, and cost improvement programs
  • Coordinate effectively with Corporate functions (Legal, Strategy & Development, Accounting, and others) to advance strategic priorities
  • Support the Division President and leadership team in strategy deployment and annual goal setting
Data & Analytics
  • Lead analytical initiatives to drive revenue growth, cost efficiency, and free cash flow generation
  • Partner with commercial and operations teams to identify and act on performance improvement opportunities
  • Build and enhance reporting capabilities across the Division, including commercial and operational dashboards
  • Establish a consistent reporting cadence leveraging PrecisIQ and other tools to deliver timely, decision-useful insights
  • Collaborate with Strategic Finance and Data Science teams to develop advanced analytics, dashboards, and decision-support tools to support efficient and data-informed business decisions
Leadership and Team Development
  • Lead and develop a high-performing finance organization within the Division
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and strong partnership with Division leadership, sales and operating teams
  • Ensure alignment of finance resources with key business and strategic priorities
Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field required
  • MBA, CPA, or other professional designation preferred
  • 10+ years of progressive experience across finance, strategy or accounting roles
  • Demonstrated experience in M&A, corporate development, and/or strategic initiatives
  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams (5+ years of leadership experience preferred)
  • Experience operating in a matrixed organization; industry experience in construction materials, mining or related sectors is a plus
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and dashboard reporting
  • Willingness to travel
