Position Summary:
Friendly Senior Living is seeking an experienced, mission-driven healthcare leader to serve as Vice President amp; Administrator of The Friendly Home, a 181-member nursing home and rehabilitation community in Rochester, NY. This executive leadership role offers the opportunity to guide operations, support excellence in care and service, and contribute to the continued success of a respected senior living organization with a long-standing commitment to older adults and their families.
As Administrator of Record, the Vice President amp;Administrator will oversee key clinical and service departments, guide quality and compliance efforts, support financial and operational performance, and help advance a Culture of Excellence across the organization. The Vice President amp; Administrator serves as a trusted advisor to the President and provides direct administrative oversight for Nursing, Social Work/Admissions, Recreation, Medical Services, Dietary, Building and Environmental Services. The successful candidate will bring strong operational judgment, regulatory knowledge, financial discipline, and a genuine commitment to resident-centered care.
The ideal candidate is an experienced senior care or healthcare executive who leads with integrity, builds trust across teams, and balances strategic vision with hands-on operational follow-through. This individual will be comfortable working in a highly regulated environment, leading through change, and fostering collaboration across departments to deliver exceptional care and service.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Provide executive leadership for assigned clinical and service departments, ensuring efficient, effective, and compliant operations.
  • Partner with the President, Chief Financial Officer, and department leaders on strategic planning, annual operating plans, budgets, and capital planning.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor programs, policies, procedures, and performance objectives that support organizational priorities.
  • Lead quality assurance and regulatory readiness efforts to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Prepare operational reports and provide updates to executive leadership and the Board of Directors.
  • Promote a strong team culture through effective communication, staff development, orientation, training, and ongoing education.
  • Support resident, family, employee, and community relationships through visible, service-oriented leadership.โ€‹
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree from an accredited college or university required; advanced degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in healthcare facility administration.
  • Active New York State Nursing Home Administrator license required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare operations, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, budgeting, and leadership best practices.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
