Vice President of Logistics


Full-Time Salary Position


On Site: Weed, CA; Olancha, CA; Novato, CA; San Bernardino, CA; Norman, AR; Pasadena, TX; Moultonborough, NH; Johnstown, NY; Salem, SC; Orlando, FL; or Benton, TN.


Base Salary Range: $105,000 - $150,000


Bi-Annual Profit-Sharing Bonus & Discretionary Bonuses

About the Role:

The Vice President of Logistics is a strategic leadership role responsible for the overall direction, planning, and execution of the company's logistics operations. This position focuses on developing and implementing innovative logistics strategies, optimizing supply chain efficiency, and leading a high-performing team to achieve operational excellence. The VP of Logistics will be a key member of the executive leadership team, contributing to the company's overall strategic direction and driving continuous improvement across the logistics function.


Responsibilities:


Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive logistics strategies that align with the company's business objectives and drive competitive advantage.
  • Identify and analyze emerging industry trends, technologies, and best practices to optimize logistics operations and enhance supply chain resilience.
  • Lead the development and implementation of long-term logistics plans, including network optimization, transportation management, warehousing, and inventory control.
  • Collaborate with other executive leaders to integrate logistics strategies with overall business planning and execution.

 

Team Management & Development:

  • Provide strong leadership, mentorship, and guidance to the logistics team, and cultivating a collaborative, innovative, and results-oriented environment.
  • Build and maintain a high-performing team by attracting, developing, and retaining top talent.
  • Establish clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning and development, providing opportunities for team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.


Operational Excellence:

  • Oversee all aspects of logistics operations, ensuring efficient and cost-effective transportation, warehousing, and inventory management.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels.
  • Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers and other key partners.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and industry standards.


Financial and Risk Management:

  • Develop and manage the logistics budget, ensuring cost-effective operations and maximizing return on investment.
  • Analyze logistics costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on logistics performance and financial results.
  • Identify and assess potential risks to the logistics operations and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure business continuity plans are in place to minimize disruptions to the supply chain.

  • Perform all other duties as assigned.


Qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7+ years of progressive experience in logistics management, with a proven track record of success in strategic planning and team leadership.
  • Extensive knowledge of supply chain management principles, practices, and technologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a high-performing team.
  • Strong financial acumen and budget management experience.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
