Job description

Our client seeks a dynamic Vice President of Commercial Construction to lead and elevate the company's construction operations. This executive role is responsible for strategic planning, project execution oversight, and driving profitable growth within the commercial sector. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in commercial construction leadership, a deep understanding of market dynamics, and a proven ability to manage complex projects and foster strong client and stakeholder relationships. This is a pivotal opportunity to shape the future of our commercial construction division.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute comprehensive commercial construction strategies to achieve revenue targets and project profitability.

  • Lead, mentor, and manage project teams, ensuring successful project delivery from inception to completion.

  • Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and client needs to identify and secure new commercial construction opportunities.

  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key clients, subcontractors, and strategic partners.

  • Oversee project budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance reporting to executive leadership.

  • Collaborate with design, engineering, and operations teams to ensure project feasibility and optimize execution.

  • Drive continuous improvement in construction processes, safety protocols, and project management methodologies.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications preferred.

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in the commercial construction industry, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role (e.g., VP of Construction, Director of Operations).

  • Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale commercial construction projects, meeting budget and schedule requirements.

  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing successful business development and operational strategies within commercial construction.

  • Exceptional leadership, team-building, and talent development skills with the ability to motivate diverse project teams.

  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies, contract negotiation, risk management, and relevant industry software (e.g., Procore, MS Project).

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and executive-level presentation skills.
