Job Summary:

Reporting to the Global VP of Procurement, the Director, Procurement - Jenbacher North America will provide strategic leadership for the Direct Material Procurement organization in North America across multiple leadership levels, including Category Leaders, Supplier Quality Engineers, Buyers, and their teams. In this role, you will shape the direction of the function, strengthen organizational capabilities, and drive procurement strategies that support business growth, supply resilience, and sustainable financial performance across the region.

This is a highly visible leadership opportunity for an experienced procurement leader who combines strategic perspective with operational judgment and excels in leading through others, influencing senior stakeholders, and driving lasting business impact in a complex manufacturing environment. You will also act as the regional deputy to the VP Procurement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Team Development
    • Provide leadership, including people management responsibilities, for the North America Direct Material Procurement team of approximately 15 employees.
    • Lead, mentor, and continuously develop a team of Category Leaders, Supplier Quality Engineers, and Buyers.
    • Strengthen organizational capability and foster a high-performance culture built on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
    • Ensure strong adherence to procurement processes, identify process gaps, and implement sustainable process improvements.
    • Act as the regional deputy to the VP Procurement.
  • Strategic Sourcing & Category Management
    • Define and execute procurement and category strategies that deliver against business-driven production and financial targets.
    • Translate market developments and business needs into sourcing decisions that enhance competitiveness, resilience, and long-term value creation.
    • Continuously develop market intelligence tools and data sets to support supplier negotiations and financial planning.
    • Ensure robust supplier evaluation and selection processes that support operational excellence and future growth.
  • Contract Negotiation & Financial Management
    • Drive cost-saving initiatives and lead key supplier negotiations to secure competitive pricing and favorable commercial terms.
    • Review and approve complex supplier agreements to ensure commercially sound outcomes and appropriate protection of INNIO's interests.
    • Ensure accurate forecasting and disciplined execution of direct material budgets.
    • Drive financial rigor and value delivery across the direct material portfolio.
  • Supplier Relationship Management & Risk Mitigation
    • Establish and enforce supplier performance management through clear KPIs across delivery, quality, cost, and compliance
    • Develop and execute supplier-based risk mitigation plans to proactively address critical part shortages, supply chain disruptions, and market volatility.
    • Partner closely with Engineering, Quality, and Operations to ensure sourced materials meet business, regulatory, and quality requirements.
    • Support effective decision-making and material readiness through strong cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management or a related field; Master's Degree or MBA a plus; equivalent professional work experience also considered.
  • 10+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or a similar supply chain environment within a complex industrial setting.
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams of 10+ employees performing highly complex, business-critical activities.
  • Experience in the reciprocating engine, energy, power generation or large equipment industrial manufacturing industries strongly preferred.
  • Strong track record in procurement strategy, supplier negotiations, commercial management, and cost optimization.
  • Advanced experience in contract negotiation, market and supplier analysis, and procurement tools, including ERP systems.
  • Strong financial acumen, structured working style, and a results-driven mindset with high reliability in execution.
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive cross-functional alignment.

Additional Details:

  • Location: Waukesha, WI
  • Hybrid Work Schedule: Regular onsite presence at our Waukesha facility is an essential requirement. Employees should anticipate being onsite approximately 50% of the time, with flexibility determined by business priorities, leadership activities, and team collaboration needs.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%, as required.
  • Visa Sponsorship: This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship now or in the foreseeable future.
