Rapid7 is seeking a VP, Quality Engineering to define and drive the global vision for our quality engineering organization. This leader will spearhead the shift from traditional software quality assurance to a highly automated, proactive engineering discipline embedded across our continuous delivery pipelines. This role focuses on scaling high-performing teams, accelerating product delivery velocity, and embedding robust reliability measures across our enterprise cybersecurity platform.

The Quality Engineering team builds the scalable frameworks, automated toolsets, and testing infrastructure that guarantee the resilience of Rapid7's global security solutions. This team drives measurable business impact by shipping resilient code safely, maximizing engineering efficiency, and ensuring flawless operational experiences for our customers.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Chief Product and Technology Officer, the Vice President, Quality Engineering will define and drive Rapid7's multi-year quality engineering strategy. You will be responsible for embedding AI across our full product portfolio and transforming our internal operations.
Specifically, your focus will be to:
  • Define the multi-year technical vision and execution strategies for quality engineering, moving towards autonomous validation and continuous testing.
  • Scale and mentor a globally distributed organization of engineers, managers, and architects, instilling a culture of absolute engineering excellence.
  • Partner with engineering and product leaders to integrate automated quality barriers deeply into cloud-native continuous integration and deployment workflows.
  • Optimize the enterprise testing footprint by consolidating toolsets, maximizing infrastructure efficiency, and managing operational budgets.
  • Establish metrics for defect prevention, test coverage velocity, system reliability, and overall organizational release readiness.
  • Drive the adoption of advanced automation practices, including synthetic data generation, chaos engineering, and intelligent test orchestration.
  • Lead cross-functional alignment initiatives across product divisions to build sustainable quality improvements and unified platform experiences.
