Job description

Vice President of Operations

The Driver Provider is seeking an experienced Vice President of Operations to lead and strengthen our growing transportation operations. This is a senior leadership role for someone who knows how to turn complexity into structure, establish clear accountability and build teams that execute consistently.

We are looking for a hands-on operational leader who can see both the big picture and what is happening on the ground. The right person will bring discipline to day-to-day operations while helping us build the systems, leadership structure and processes needed to support continued growth.

This role will work closely with the CEO and senior leadership team and will have significant influence over how our operations evolve.

What you'll own:

  • Overall leadership and accountability for company operations
  • Development of clear operational processes, expectations and performance standards
  • Leadership and development of operational managers and teams
  • Operational readiness and execution for new markets, contracts and client launches
  • Identification and resolution of operational gaps before they become business problems
  • Establishment and monitoring of meaningful operational KPIs
  • Workforce planning and resource allocation in partnership with People Operations
  • Continuous improvement initiatives focused on service, efficiency, scalability and accountability
  • Partnership with executive leadership on organizational strategy and growth

What we're looking for

Someone who is comfortable walking into a complex operation, asking good questions and figuring out what needs to happen next.

You should be able to move comfortably between strategy and execution. One hour may involve reviewing performance data and identifying a systemic problem; the next may require working directly with a manager to understand why something isn't getting done.

We're particularly interested in candidates who have:

  • Senior operational leadership experience in transportation, logistics, hospitality, fleet operations or another high-service, time-sensitive environment
  • Experience leading managers and building accountability across multiple operational functions
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated success improving processes and operational performance
  • Experience supporting growth, expansion or new-market launches
  • The ability to make decisions with incomplete information and adjust quickly as conditions change
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across departments
  • A leadership style that combines high expectations with respect for the people doing the work

What success looks like:

Success in this role isn't measured by how many problems you personally solve. It's measured by whether you build an operation in which the right people know what they own, have what they need to execute and are accountable for delivering results.
