Vice President of Construction Operations

Location: Bethesda, MD
Employment Type: Full-Time


A leading commercial general contractor is seeking a Vice President of Construction Operations to provide senior operational leadership across a growing portfolio of construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee project execution, field operations, and project management teams across multiple projects.
  • Partner with business leadership on financial performance, workload forecasting, growth strategy, and operational planning.
  • Monitor project schedules, budgets, profitability, safety, quality, risk, and client satisfaction.
  • Lead and develop Project Executives, Project Managers, Superintendents, and other operational staff.
  • Drive process improvements, technology adoption, risk mitigation, and operational consistency.
  • Resolve escalated project, owner, and trade-partner issues.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, design professionals, and trade partners.
  • Champion safety, accountability, collaboration, and operational excellence.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of commercial construction experience, including 5+ years in senior project management or operations leadership.
  • Proven success leading multiple projects and developing high-performing teams.
  • Strong financial, operational, client relationship, and strategic leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated record of successful project delivery, profitability, schedule performance, quality, and safety.
