The Vice President of Finance is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing all financial operations of the company, ensuring fiscal integrity, regulatory compliance, and strategic financial planning. This role reports directly to the operating companyโ€™s President to drive business performance and supports the holding company through alignment with broader corporate financial strategy and reporting requirements. The VP of Finance will lead budgeting, forecasting, program finance, and financial reporting and compliance while providing actionable insights to support growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities Financial Leadership & Strategy
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the President on financial planning, business performance, and growth initiatives
  • Align divisional financial strategy with corporate objectives in coordination with the CFO
  • Lead long-range financial planning, scenario modeling, and investment analysis
Financial Operations
  • Oversee all accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
  • Manage cash flow, working capital, and financial risk
Government Contracting Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with FAR, CAS, DCAA, and other applicable federal regulations
  • Oversee incurred cost submissions, audit support, and rate development (provisional and final)
  • Maintain strong internal controls aligned with government contracting requirements
Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Lead the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts across all departments and programs
  • Partner with program managers to monitor contract performance, revenue recognition, and profitability
  • Provide variance analysis and actionable recommendations
Program Finance & Business Partnership
  • Support program management and proposal teams with financial insights, pricing strategies, and cost control
  • Review and approve pricing models for proposals and contract bids
  • Drive financial accountability across business units
  • Lead and develop a high-performing finance and accounting team
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration
  • Build scalable processes and systems to support company growth
Systems & Process Improvement
  • Evaluate and enhance financial systems, tools, and reporting capabilities

Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field required. MBA, CPA, or other relevant advanced degree/certification strongly preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 12-15 years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including significant leadership experience in a senior finance role. Prior experience supporting an operating company or business unit within a larger corporate structure is strongly preferred.
  • Government Contracting Expertise: Demonstrated experience in government contracting finance, with strong working knowledge of FAR, CAS, DCAA, incurred cost submissions, provisional and final indirect rate development, audit support, and compliance-focused internal controls.
  • Financial Leadership: Proven ability to lead enterpriseโ€‘level budgeting, forecasting, longโ€‘range planning, cash flow management, financial reporting, internal controls, and strategic financial analysis in a growthโ€‘oriented environment.
  • Program Finance and Pricing: Experience partnering with program managers and business leaders to monitor contract performance, support revenue recognition and profitability analysis, and develop pricing strategies for proposals and competitive bids.
  • Systems and Process Improvement: Strong background in enhancing financial systems, reporting tools, automation, and scalable business processes to improve efficiency and support organizational growth.
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated success building, leading, and developing highโ€‘performing finance and accounting teams, with a collaborative leadership style and a strong commitment to accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Analytical and Communication Skills: Exceptional analytical, problemโ€‘solving, and decisionโ€‘support capabilities, with the ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable recommendations for executive leadership.
  • Regulatory and Compliance Knowledge: Deep understanding of financial governance, regulatory compliance, and risk management practices applicable to federal contracting environments.
