Location: May be located in any Elevance Health PulsePoint office preferably in Chicago, IL, Indianapolis, IN, Atlanta, GA, Mason, OH, Richmond, VA, Norfolk, VA, New York, NY, or Woodland Hills, CA.

This role requires associates to be in-office at least 3days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. This approach combines structured office engagement with the autonomy of virtual work, promoting a dynamic and adaptable workplace. Alternate locations may be considered. Summary

Elevance Health is building a modern enterprise execution engine that translates strategy into measurable outcomes faster, more predictably, and with disciplined risk management. This role leads the Strategic Portfolio Office (SPO)and the broader enterprise technology execution capability as a transformation operator: establishing the operating model, portfolio discipline, execution governance, and leadership cadence required to scale AI, automation, data, platform, and enterprise technology initiatives without adding bureaucracy.

In a matrixed environment where delivery is distributed across business and technology teams, this leader creates enterprise-level visibility, decision cadence, executive communication, and accountabilityso investments translate into outcomes and leaders can make faster tradeoffs with confidence.

This is nota traditional PMO role. It is a modern execution leadership role requiring:

  • strong technical fluency

  • AI and platform execution credibility

  • high-level investment and portfolio discipline

  • exceptional executive communication

  • the ability to build CEO-, CIO-, and Board-ready materials that translate complex delivery realities into clear business decisions.

Position Responsibilities

1) Enterprise Portfolio Leadership & Investment Discipline

  • Translate enterprise technology and business strategies into an actionable portfolio with clear priorities, sequencing, outcomes, and visible tradeoffs

  • Lead SPO and establish one portfolio operating rhythm across AI, data, platforms, cyber, enterprise tech, and transformation work

  • Drive consistent portfolio governance across federated delivery teams; ensure work is prioritized, resourced, sequenced, and measured against enterprise outcomes

  • Provide transparent views of investment, spend, delivery health, risks, milestones, and expected value realization

  • Help leaders focus on the highest-value initiatives and make informed decisions on pivot, pause, accelerate, or stop

2) AI / Automation Execution Enablement

  • Establish execution patterns for AI and automation programs that include outcome gates, adoption readiness, model and change risk management, and production proof points

  • Partner with engineering, architecture, security, data, and business leaders to ensure AI and automation work is feasible, scalable, governed, and operationally ready

  • Engage credibly with external technical partners, including strategic AI and platform providers

  • Ensure AI initiatives move beyond POCs into repeatable production capabilities with measurable business impact

3) Operating Model, Governance, and Delivery Excellence

  • Build and run an enterprise operating model that balances execution discipline with agility in a federated environment

  • Standardize planning, milestone management, dependency management, risk/issue/decision management, and portfolio reporting

  • Improve intake, governance, review readiness, and execution handoffs across teams

  • Reduce noise, manual coordination, and fragmented reporting through standardization and smarter tooling

  • Create the standards and operating expectations that turn PMs and program leaders into enterprise operators

4) Transparency, Executive Reporting & Performance Management

  • Build executive-grade dashboards and performance views that show portfolio health, delivery predictability, and value realization

  • Produce clear, high-quality materials for senior leadership, CEO reviews, Board updates, and strategic decision forums

  • Translate complex portfolio realities into concise narratives, options, tradeoffs, and recommendations

  • Drive a decision-support model that helps leaders intervene early, reallocate capacity, and protect enterprise commitments

  • Ensure portfolio materials are insight-driven, action-oriented, and appropriate for executive and Board audiences

5) Value Realization, Adoption, and Accountability

  • Ensure each major initiative has clear adoption ownership, business outcomes, and value realization metrics

  • Connect business cases to execution plans and measurable enterprise outcomes

  • Improve visibility into whether delivered capabilities are creating the intended operational, financial, or experience impact

  • Drive recovery of at-risk initiatives and hold teams accountable for path-to-green actions

  • Track performance against approved business cases and value targets

6) Leadership & Capability Building

  • Lead, coach, and grow SPO leaders, PMs, and execution leads into enterprise operators

  • Build a modern execution capability defined by technical fluency, AI-enabled productivity, and strong business judgment

  • Set high standards for communication, accountability, decision readiness, and operating discipline

  • Create a culture where teams surface risks early, communicate clearly, and execute with urgency and transparency

Position Requirements

Requires an BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study and a minimum of 12 years of experience leading enterprise digital and/or product development business transformations work including large programs and multi-disciplinary teams partnerships such as leading technology teams and/or cross functional project (technology and operations) teams, significant large-scale project management; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences

  • Demonstrated success driving large-scale transformation across multiple years, functions, and business domains

  • Strong technical fluency across modern delivery models, product and platform operating models, data/AI/automation programs, and enterprise technology ecosystems

  • Experience leading AI, automation, or platform-enabled transformation initiatives from concept through production and value realization

  • Executive presence with the ability to influence CIO, CEO, Board, and senior business stakeholders

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to build compelling executive and Board-level presentations, memos, dashboards, and decision materials

  • Strong investment discipline and portfolio management experience, including prioritization, spend oversight, value realization, and tradeoff management

  • Experience leading matrixed teams across technology, business, legal, compliance, finance, and vendor ecosystems

  • Proven ability to simplify complexity, reduce noise, and create decision-ready clarity for senior leaders

  • Experience in highly regulated industries such as healthcare, insurance, financial services, telecom, or large-scale consumer platforms

  • Experience working with strategic AI/platform vendors and external transformation partners

  • Familiarity with enterprise governance, risk management, cyber/security, and Responsible AI controls

  • Experience modernizing or rebuilding an execution function, operating model, or portfolio office

  • Track record of developing high-performing PMO / portfolio / execution leaders into enterprise operators

Corporate Title: Staff VP Digital Experience Product Management

For candidates working in person or virtually in the below location(s), the salary* range for this specific position is $206,080 to $370,944
