      Job Description

      We are seeking a people-focused, results-driven Vice President of Sales to lead our Raleigh sales and marketing organization. This senior leadership role is responsible for driving growth across our five core furniture verticals and complementary services, ensuring exceptional client relationships and delivering outstanding sales performance.

      The VP of Sales will own the creation and execution of quarterly and annual business plans, lead the corporate "Growth" objective team, and foster a high-performance culture that consistently outperforms industry benchmarks.

      Key Responsibilities

      Coach & Develop Talent

      • Recruit, onboard, and develop a high-performing sales team.

      • Hold regular one-on-one meetings to provide feedback, coaching, and remove roadblocks.

      • Establish SMART goals and conduct performance evaluations.

      • Promote ongoing training, professional development, and leadership readiness.

      • Support the SLII process to enhance leadership development.

      Build Trusting Relationships

      • Partner with internal teams (design, project management, operations) to ensure seamless delivery.

      • Cultivate relationships with key clients, A&D firms, commercial real estate influencers, and strategic growth accounts.

      • Drive customer satisfaction by understanding client needs and delivering tailored solutions.

      • Represent the company at networking events, client meetings, and vendor engagements.

      • Model company values and foster a culture of collaboration and accountability.

      Establish & Execute Strategic Direction

      • Develop and execute sales strategies and marketing initiatives with a consultative, solution-oriented approach.

      • Analyze competitor strategies and market trends to strengthen positioning.

      • Negotiate and close high-value contracts, ensuring long-term partnerships.

      • Lead the corporate Growth team to identify and capture profitable opportunities.

      • Champion innovation in products, services, and client engagement.

      Deliver Effective Communication

      • Provide clear, actionable feedback following meetings and client interactions.

      • Set expectations around goals, sales behaviors, and desired outcomes.

      • Deliver on financial targets: bookings, revenue, GP%, expenses, and net income.

      • Monitor client survey results to maintain NPS scores of 72+ and strong return rates.

      Qualifications

      Education & Experience

      • Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, or related field required.

      • 10+ years progressive sales leadership, preferably in office furniture dealerships; related industries (commercial interiors, manufacturing, distribution) also considered.

      • Proven track record in sales strategy, target marketing, and team leadership.

      • Experience working with general contractors, real estate developers, and A&D firms.

      • P&L management experience with demonstrated ability to optimize profitability.

      • Strong knowledge of contract furniture required (Steelcase preferred), workspace design, and vertical markets (corporate, healthcare, education, government) strongly preferred.
