The Vice President of Design and Engineering will provide technical and engineering leadership for both design-build and engineering only projects and pursuits. The responsibilities of this position include maintaining and, where necessary, establishing standards for Austin's design and engineering process. The purposes of these standards include ensuring a measure of consistency, defining the level of quality for deliverables, and providing efficient and effective design and engineering processes that support The Austin Method, so that projects are completed on-time, within budget, at the highest quality levels and meet client satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Education: a bachelor's degree in engineering or architecture from an accredited engineering school. This position requires professional registration and the ability to secure reciprocity in multiple states via NCEES or NCARB programs.
  • Experience: Minimum of 15 years of experience of which at least five years being the manager or director level of an engineering department.
  • Skills: Good oral and written communication skills are essential; strong leadership and team management skills; strong understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance standards in the engineering sector; ability to drive change and foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement; Experience with financial management and budgeting for engineering projects.
