Role Reporting to the Corporate Vice President of Finance Transformation, Tax & Treasury, the Vice President of Global Tax is responsible for Applied' s overall tax strategy including all components of compliance, tax planning and accounting for income taxes. The Vice President of Global Tax will work with advisors, service providers, auditors, the Audit Committee and other tax professionals in carrying out his or her responsibilities.

The Vice President of Tax will regularly report to the Company's Board of Directors and/or Committees of the Board to update the members on the Company's tax strategy, practices and exposures. Key Responsibilities Ensure efficient, timely, and complete processing of internal and external tax reporting and minimization of tax obligations of the company Re-evaluate Applied's global tax structure, given upcoming changes in the international environment Deliver strategic tax planning to drive lower effective global tax rates and operational initiatives Ensure appropriate issue analysis and negotiation of audit settlements with taxing authorities Remain connected to third party information sources to ensure that new or modified tax laws are accurately accounted for on a timely basis Skills, Knowledge, Experience & Education At Applied Materials, Make Possible is about unlocking new opportunities - with our customers and within our own company. The ideal candidate will have the following: Demonstrates a strong value system and an ethical sense of judgment; conveys those values within the tax team and across the business Has the experience and judgment to initiate, plan, execute, and complete goals timely Excellent analytic, technical tax, organizational and project management skills Bachelor's Degree in accounting; preferably completed CPA, JD, Master's Degree, or other form of advanced education 10+ years of tax function leadership experience with a US global manufacturing company that operates in multiple countries tied to foreign operations Extensive knowledge of computer applications related to corporate tax Familiar with and managed international tax structures, including IP and transfer prices along with related US considerations including GILTI, FIDDI, BEATS, etc.

Structured work approach with ability to manage and develop talent to highly valuable results Exhibits a strong ability to handle multiple demands with a sense of urgency, drive, and energy Must be self-directed, have excellent initiative and organizational skills to excel in a dynamic and fast-paced environment Excellent communicator and educator of others that is respectful; able to translate tax rules and concepts into clear actionable information Other Suitability Factors We are a catalyst to unlock the power of our customers' ideas and are committed to overcoming challenges that seem insurmountable. For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
