JK Executive Strategies is proud to partner with an organization in search of a Vice President of Human Resources to join its Executive Leadership Team.


This organization is seeking a strategic, collaborative, and visionary Vice President of Human Resources to lead its people strategy and oversee all aspects of Human Resources across a complex, mission-driven organization. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, this executive leader will serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and Executive Leadership Team, ensuring the organization's workforce, culture, and talent strategies support long-term organizational success.


The Vice President of Human Resources will provide executive oversight of all Human Resources functions, including talent acquisition, employee and labor relations, compensation and benefits, organizational development, learning and development, compliance, employee engagement, diversity initiatives, and HR operations. This leader will balance strategic planning with operational execution while fostering an inclusive, high-performing workplace that attracts, develops, and retains exceptional talent.


Responsibilities

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Leadership Team on all matters related to human capital, organizational development, and workforce planning.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive Human Resources strategy aligned with the organization's mission, vision, values, and long-term business objectives.
  • Provide executive leadership for all Human Resources functions, including talent acquisition, onboarding, employee relations, labor relations, compensation, benefits, compliance, learning and development, HR operations, and employee engagement.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Human Resources leadership team while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with executive and operational leaders on performance management, succession planning, leadership development, organizational design, and talent reviews.
  • Develop and implement innovative recruitment and retention strategies that strengthen the organization's ability to attract and retain top talent.
  • Lead labor relations initiatives, including collective bargaining negotiations, contract administration, and ongoing union partnerships.
  • Oversee employee relations, workplace investigations, conflict resolution, performance management, and disciplinary processes while mitigating organizational risk.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including FLSA, ADA, FMLA, EEOC, OSHA, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with legal counsel to manage employment-related litigation, unemployment hearings, agency complaints, and regulatory inquiries.
  • Direct compensation and total rewards strategies, including market benchmarking, salary administration, benefits planning, healthcare plan design, vendor management, and annual open enrollment.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of job descriptions, organizational structures, position classifications, and compensation evaluations.
  • Champion employee engagement, organizational culture, diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives that support workforce excellence.
  • Lead organizational learning and leadership development initiatives while evaluating training effectiveness and future workforce readiness.
  • Utilize workforce analytics and Human Resources metrics to identify trends, measure organizational effectiveness, and provide strategic recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Maintain a visible leadership presence by regularly engaging employees and leaders across multiple organizational locations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of organizational objectives.


Requirements

  • Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a related field preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, including at least 5 years in a senior or executive leadership role.
  • SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP, SPHR, or PHR certification required.
  • Demonstrated success leading Human Resources within a complex, multi-site organization.
  • Proven experience partnering directly with executive leadership to develop and implement strategic people initiatives.
  • Extensive knowledge of federal and state employment laws, labor relations, compliance, employee relations, and workplace investigations.
  • Experience leading collective bargaining negotiations and managing union relationships.
  • Strong background in compensation strategy, benefits administration, organizational development, succession planning, and talent management.
  • Experience utilizing HR metrics and workforce analytics to drive business decisions and organizational performance.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, relationship-building, and change management skills.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to balance strategic priorities with operational execution.
  • Experience within a nonprofit, healthcare, human services, behavioral health, or other mission-driven organization preferred.
  • Experience supporting a geographically dispersed and multi-site workforce preferred.
  • Experience presenting to executive leadership and Boards of Directors preferred.
  • Experience leading organizational change, culture transformation, and employee engagement initiatives preferred.
  • Experience overseeing Human Resources technology, HRIS platforms, and learning management systems preferred.


Salary Range

  • $150k
