Executive Vice President – Business Development

Pharmaceutical / Life Sciences | Learning & Development & Medical Affairs

Remote | $250,000–$300,000+ Base Salary + Commission | Excellent Benefits


Our client is a growing, highly respected pharmaceutical agency seeking an accomplished Executive Vice President of Business Development to join its leadership team and play a key role in driving continued growth. This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic, relationship-driven sales leader with deep experience in pharmaceutical agency environments, Learning & Development, Sales Training, and Medical Affairs.


The Opportunity

The Executive Vice President will be responsible for developing and executing business development strategies, expanding key client relationships, leading high-level presentations and pitches, and driving revenue growth across the Life Sciences and Pharmaceutical markets.

This individual will serve as a senior leader within the organization while also building, mentoring, and leading a high-performing sales team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive business development and sales strategies
  • Identify and capitalize on emerging market opportunities, industry trends, and growth initiatives
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with senior-level Life Sciences and Pharmaceutical clients
  • Lead client presentations, pitches, proposals, and business development meetings
  • Drive consultative selling strategies and identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships
  • Analyze market trends, competitive intelligence, and business analytics to inform growth strategies
  • Lead revenue forecasting, pipeline development, negotiations, and deal closing
  • Build, recruit, train, mentor, and develop a high-performing sales organization
  • Collaborate with internal leadership and cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional client solutions
  • Make strategic business decisions that support the organization's continued growth and success

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of Business Development and/or Sales experience within a Pharmaceutical agency or related Life Sciences organization
  • 5+ years of leadership experience at the Director level or above
  • Strong background in Learning & Development, Sales Training, and Medical Affairs
  • Proven track record of developing new business and consistently driving revenue growth
  • Demonstrated success leading and developing sales teams
  • Exceptional presentation, negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate market insights into actionable growth strategies
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred
  • Ability and willingness to travel periodically
