Related Ross is seeking a Vice President of Information Systems to join their team in West Palm Beach, FL. The Vice President of Information Systems holds a crucial senior position within our commercial and multifamily real estate operations. This role is essential for maximizing both asset value and operational profitability by acting as the primary bridge between the organization's technologies and its core business operations.

This newly created position will bring together multiple stakeholders by creating a robust local IT presence for Related Ross that aligns strategically with The Related Companies standards. The VP IS will unify the IT operating model to provide oversight, managing multimillion-dollar budgets and driving digital transformations. Key initiatives will include streamlining workflows for asset management, leasing, building operations, and finance, directing complex system migrations, enforcing rigorous IT governance, and ensuring that our technology delivers a frictionless, premier experience for all tenants, residents, and employees.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Fiscal Leadership

  • Serve as the strategic technology leader for the local organization, acting as the principal liaison between technology operations and executive management, as well as with The Related Companies’ corporate IT team based in NY.
  • Manage multimillion-dollar technology budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility and measurable value delivery.
  • Oversee and manage IT functions such as: Network Technologies, Technology Service, IT Security Systems, and Technology Project Coordination.

Risk, Governance, & Compliance

  • Oversee audits of third-party integrations, Proptech vendors, integrators, and service providers to ensure they meet cybersecurity and compliance standards.
  • Establish and govern data privacy, security, and acceptable use policies for tenant information and emerging technologies, while providing ethical frameworks and guardrails for AI/ML and automation adoption; evaluate and implement tools that enhance operational efficiency, reporting, and tenant experience.
  • Develop and enforce policies and controls to mitigate IT and cybersecurity risks.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and internal governance frameworks.
  • Provide regular briefings to senior leadership on IT strategy, risk posture, and performance outcomes.

Tenant Experience & Support Operations

  • Strengthen the link between technology and tenant service, ensuring systems and processes deliver smooth, efficient, and personalized experiences.
  • Foster a culture that values service quality, responsiveness, and empathy across all technological touchpoints.
  • Use feedback from tenants and employees to guide improvements in technology and service delivery.
  • Hold ultimate accountability for the local Service Desk, incident management, and hardware procurement across local departments.

Technology Strategy & Infrastructure

  • Formulate and test comprehensive disaster recovery, ransomware response, and business continuity plans to guarantee the operational resilience of all core building and business systems.
  • Direct the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of IT systems across the local portfolio.
  • Maintain full accountability for local infrastructure, network management, and physical security deployments (including access control, video surveillance, and visitor management for all asset types).
  • Ensure release and project management processes, particularly serving as the accountable leader for IT construction logistics, supporting site openings, renovations, and redevelopments.

Financial Systems, Operational Effectiveness & Change Management

  • Champion the human element of digital transformation by driving communication, training, and process adaptation to ensure high user effectiveness and minimal business disruption during critical migrations.
  • Drive the transformation strategy to best leverage current ERP solutions such as Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne and varied companion software while innovating toward modern SaaS and self-service data solutions.
  • Act as the key consulted stakeholder for corporate-managed business applications and data storage management.
  • Establish and lead a technology steering committee for Related Ross, focused on monitoring and integrating the latest real estate technology trends and best practices.

Qualifications
  • Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in IT leadership, cybersecurity, and enterprise technology management with a proven track record of managing large-scale budgets and enterprise infrastructure.
  • Real Estate Expertise: Knowledge of commercial (office, retail) and multifamily asset management preferred.
  • System Proficiency: Strong familiarity with industry-standard platforms (e.g., Argus Software, CoStar, MRI Software, RealPage, Salesforce, Yardi ) and a proven track record of executing complex ERP migrations.
  • Enterprise Architecture, Risk & Security: Working knowledge of modern enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF). Professional certifications in information security and cloud security (such as ISACA CISM or (ISC)² CCSP) are highly preferred to support rigorous vendor and operational risk management.
  • Matrix Leadership: Demonstrated ability to navigate matrixed reporting structures, successfully managing local business needs while aligning with corporate IT directives.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Experience leveraging modern data ecosystems including AI/ML, Semantic Layers, and Lakehouse architectures for self-serve analytics and portfolio performance metrics.
  • Smart Building & Technology Adoption: Expertise in integrating IoT for building efficiency and enhancing resident/tenant experience (e.g., smart access, Genetec, concierge apps).
