Position Summary

TheCorporateControllerleads the accounting function for Generation Hospitality Group's portfolio of managed hotel properties. This role owns the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of the monthly close process across the portfolio, drives system and process improvements that allow GHG's accounting infrastructure to scale, and leads the team and outsourced partners responsible for day-to-day accounting execution.

This role is intentionally and fully focused on building and scaling GHG's accounting product - the systems, processes, team, and outsourced partnerships that produceaccurate, reliable accounting data across the portfolio. Portfolio-level finance functions, including forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis, are owned by the VP of FP&A. The Corporate Controller providesaccurate,timelyaccounting data to support that work but does not own it.

Core Responsibilities Accounting Operations & Monthly Close
  • Own and execute monthly close processes for directly assigned properties.
  • Review and oversee monthlyclosefor the full portfolio of managed properties.
  • Review financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, and prepaid schedules across the portfolio.
  • Troubleshoot accounting discrepancies andresolveclose-related escalations.
  • Review and quality-control outsourced accounting work performed byMetriqe, ensuring accuracy and adherence to GHG standards.
  • Support audit preparation, sales tax, and property tax workflows in coordination with the CFO.

Accounting Systems & Integrations
  • Own day-to-day oversight of the M3 accounting platform across the portfolio.
  • Maintain accounting-side data integrity forNexus/Birchstreet,Hotel Effectiveness, BILL, andOtelierintegrations.
  • Lead cross-system troubleshooting where accounting data intersects with operational reporting platforms.
  • Partner with the CFO on broader reporting and BI platform oversight (ProfitSword) to ensure accounting data flows accurately into portfolio reporting.
Process Improvement, SOPs & Workflow Design
  • Develop, document, andmaintainaccounting SOPs and standardized workflows across the portfolio.
  • LeadMetriqetraining, onboarding, and ongoing workflow development to expand the scope and reliability of outsourced accounting support.
  • Identifyand resolve recurring accounting inefficiencies, building toward a scalable accounting infrastructure as GHG grows.
Team Leadership & Training
  • Train, mentor, and develop accounting staff across the portfolio.
  • Lead recurring accounting and systems training sessions for property-level accounting personnel.
  • Serve as the daily escalation point for the accounting team.
  • Support staffing continuity and coverage planning in partnership with the CFO and CEO.
New Property Transitions & Onboarding
  • Lead chart ofaccountsmapping, accounting system implementation, and SOP rollout for newly onboarded properties.
  • Lead reporting validation and forecasting setup for new properties, in coordination with the CFO on treasury configuration.
  • Coordinate sales tax setup and related ownership requirements for new properties.
  • Provide project oversight for the accounting components of property transitions.
Cross-Functional Partnership
  • Partner with Operations, Revenue Management, and property leadership on day-to-day accounting needs and initiatives.
  • Provideaccurate,timelyaccounting data to the VP of FP&A and CFO to support forecasting, budgeting, and owner-facing financial reporting.
  • Provide documentation andexecutionsupport on audit, tax, and fraud-related matters led by the CFO.
What Success Looks Like
  • Monthly close isaccurate,timely, and increasingly self-sustaining across the portfolio with reduced rework.
  • Metriqeis fully trained and absorbing a growing share of routine accounting tasks with minimal correction loops.
  • Accounting SOPs are documented, current, and used consistently across the accounting team.
  • Newproperty accounting setup is executed smoothly and on schedule for each transition.
  • The accounting team is well-trained, has clear escalation paths, andoperateswith growing independence.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience, ideally within hospitality, multi-site, or multi-entity operating environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of hotel accounting systems (M3 or equivalent) and BI/reporting platforms (ProfitSword or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated experience managing or mentoring an accounting team, including outsourced or offshore partners.
  • Strong process orientation - proven ability to design, document, and scale SOPs in a growing organization.
  • CPA or equivalent professional accounting credential preferred.
  • High accuracy, sound judgment under pressure, and the ability to manage multipleentityclosessimultaneously
