Position Purpose 

The VP, Projects - Placemaking is a senior leadership role responsible for the successful commercial and operational delivery of TAIT's global portfolio of attractions, destination experiences, venue developments, and complex built-environment projects. This executive provides leadership from deal structuring through project closeout, ensuring projects are commercially viable, strategically resourced, and executed in alignment with client expectations, business objectives, and financial commitments.

Leading a global organization of Project Managers, Producers, and Project Coordinators, the VP is accountable for portfolio performance across margin, schedule, quality, risk management, and customer satisfaction. In partnership with Market Leadership, the role influences commercial strategy, drives delivery excellence, and ensures projects consistently achieve targeted financial and operational outcomes.

The VP, Projects - Placemaking establishes the operating model, governance framework, workforce strategy, and performance management practices that enable scalable growth and consistent project execution across regions. Working collaboratively with creative, technical, production, procurement, finance, and regional leadership teams, this executive ensures seamless project delivery while balancing creative ambition with operational discipline.

As a member of the senior leadership team, the VP plays a critical role in advancing TAIT's growth, profitability, and reputation by delivering world-class attractions and experiences that fulfill the company's mission to Create Moments That Move People.

Essential Responsibilities & Accountabilities

Core Duties

  • Accountable for the commercial and operational performance of the global Placemaking portfolio, ensuring projects deliver against margin, schedule, quality, and client satisfaction objectives.
  • Provide executive oversight from opportunity development through project closeout, ensuring projects are commercially viable, properly staffed, and aligned with strategic business goals.
  • Execute portfolio delivery strategies in partnership with Market Leadership, ensuring consistent performance across markets and submarkets.
  • Lead project delivery teams through design, fabrication, construction, installation, and commissioning activities while maintaining accountability for financial performance, schedule commitments, risk management, quality standards, and contractual obligations.
  • Direct portfolio reviews to assess project health, resource requirements, financial performance, and delivery risks, driving timely corrective actions where needed.
  • Champion operational discipline and accountability across all phases of project execution to improve predictability, efficiency, and profitability.
  • Provide regular portfolio performance updates, recommendations, and escalation support to Chief Executives of Market and senior executive leadership.
  • Provide executive oversight of construction, installation, commissioning, and site-execution activities across the portfolio, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with contractual and operational requirements.

Strategic Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute workforce planning and staffing strategies that align organizational capacity with forecasted demand and growth objectives.
  • Establish scalable operating models, delivery standards, and organizational structures that support consistent execution across global regions.
  • Partner with Market Leadership to inform commercial strategy, resource planning, investment decisions, and portfolio prioritization.
  • Identify operational risks and growth opportunities, implementing strategies that improve delivery performance, profitability, and organizational effectiveness.

Operational Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership across teams in North America, UK, Europe, APAC, and MENA to ensure consistent execution practices and performance expectations.
  • Establish, monitor, and drive accountability for key portfolio performance metrics, including margin attainment, schedule performance, resource utilization, and client satisfaction.
  • Lead portfolio reviews and lessons-learned initiatives to promote continuous improvement and operational maturity.

Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Creative, Technical, Production, Finance, Procurement, and Market Leadership teams to align commercial objectives with delivery execution.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, strategic partners, vendors, and key stakeholders to support successful project outcomes and long-term business growth.
  • Collaborate with enterprise leadership to drive alignment on priorities, resource allocation, and organizational performance objectives.

People Leadership Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop, and inspire a global team of Project Managers, Producers, and Coordinators, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance.
  • Establish clear performance expectations, succession plans, and development pathways that build organizational capability and leadership depth.
  • Drive employee engagement, coaching, and professional development initiatives to strengthen team effectiveness and retention.
  • Champion cross-functional collaboration and consistent leadership practices across all Placemaking delivery teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Project Management, Business, or related discipline, or equivalent experience. Master's degree preferred.
  • 15+ years leading the delivery of complex experiential, performing arts, cruise line, attraction, themed entertainment, construction, destination development, venue, or large-scale built-environment projects.
  • Proven success managing multi-region project portfolios, including financial performance, risk management, stakeholder engagement, and delivery oversight. 
  • Experience within performing arts, cruise line, themed entertainment, placemaking, location-based entertainment, destination development, hospitality, cultural institutions, venue development, construction, or design-build environments.
  • Expertise in project delivery methodologies, scheduling, resource planning, and financial management systems. 
  • Strong financial acumen with demonstrated success managing large-scale project portfolios and delivering profitable business outcomes. 
  • Exceptional communication, influencing, and presentation skills, with experience engaging executive leadership, clients, and key stakeholders.
