The Role
UNFOLD is seeking a Vice President & Executive Creative Director, Key Art to lead and build our Key Art practice. This role combines world-class creative leadership with business leadership, requiring someone equally passionate about developing award-winning campaigns and building a sustainable, high-performing creative organization.
You'll define the creative vision for the department, recruit and mentor exceptional talent, cultivate client relationships, contribute to business development, and partner closely with executive leadership to grow a profitable, industry-leading business.
This role reports directly to the EVP, Entertainment and will play a foundational role in shaping the future of UNFOLD's entertainment division.
Here's What You'll Do
Executive & Department Leadership
  • Establish and champion the long-term creative vision for UNFOLD's Key Art business.
  • Build and scale a high-performing creative department, including organizational structure, hiring strategy, creative processes, and culture.
  • Serve as the senior creative voice for the department, setting the standard for creative excellence across all work.
  • Partner with executive leadership on departmental strategy, growth initiatives, and long-term business planning.
  • Contribute to department forecasting, resource planning, staffing strategy, and overall business health.
  • Develop a culture rooted in collaboration, accountability, craftsmanship, and creative ambition.
  • Partner closely with Account, Strategy, Production, Operations, and Executive Leadership and foster collaboration across UNFOLD's departments to balance creative excellence with business objectives.

Creative Leadership
  • Lead the creative development of entertainment key art campaigns from concept through final execution.
  • Define compelling visual strategies rooted in storytelling, audience insight, positioning, and cultural relevance.
  • Oversee campaigns across theatrical, streaming, television, gaming, and emerging entertainment platforms.
  • Present creative work with confidence and authority to clients and their stakeholder partners/
  • Ensure every campaign reflects the highest standards of conceptual thinking, design excellence, and execution.

Concept Development & Creative Oversight
  • Guide creative teams through typography, composition, photography, illustration, retouching, finishing, and visual storytelling.
  • Partner closely with photographers, artists, finishers, production teams, and external creative partners to maintain creative integrity.
  • Attend and creatively direct photo shoots, providing on-set leadership alongside photographers, talent, stylists, and production teams.
  • Maintain exceptional standards across key art, OOH, digital adaptations, international versions, etc.
  • Stay ahead of trends across entertainment marketing, photography, design, and visual culture.

Business Development & Client Leadership
  • Leverage existing industry relationships while cultivating new client partnerships that contribute to the growth of the department.
  • Partner with agency leadership on new business opportunities, pitches, and strategic presentations.
  • Serve as a trusted creative advisor to clients, building long-term partnerships through insight, collaboration, and exceptional work.
  • Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships and introduce additional UNFOLD capabilities where appropriate.
  • Represent the department in capability meetings, industry events, and executive client engagements

Team Leadership & Talent Development
  • Recruit, mentor, and inspire a team of world-class creatives, freelancers, and future creative leaders.
  • Build an environment where creativity, collaboration, curiosity, and accountability thrive.
  • Provide thoughtful creative direction, coaching, and career development for emerging talent.
  • Help establish hiring plans and organizational structure as the department grows.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning, experimentation, and creative excellence.

Financial & Operational Leadership
  • Partner with EVP of Entertainment and Executive Leadership to support the financial health and long-term sustainability of the Key Art business.
  • Maintain visibility into departmental performance, utilization, staffing needs, and profitability.
  • Help balance creative ambition with operational realities, ensuring work is delivered efficiently without compromising quality.
  • Participate in resource planning, budgeting discussions, and strategic investment decisions that support long-term growth.
Here's What It Takes
  • 12+ years of experience leading entertainment creative teams, with significant expertise in Key Art.
  • Proven success building and leading creative organizations within entertainment marketing agencies or studios.
  • Extensive experience developing award-winning campaigns across theatrical, streaming, television, and entertainment brands.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional conceptual thinking, creative leadership, visual storytelling, and campaign systems.
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring senior creative talent and building high-performing teams.
  • Established relationships across entertainment studios, streamers, agencies, or production partners.
  • Experience contributing to new business development and executive-level client relationships.
  • Strong understanding of agency financials, resource planning, and department operations.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and executive leadership skills.
  • Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and deep knowledge of entertainment production workflows.
