We cover counties, cities, townships, villages, police departments, prisons, fire departments and more. We serve the growing insurance and risk management needs of medium and large governmental entities and provide property and casualty insurance coverages in multiple states.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Vice President of Operations to partner with the Public Risk Group President and help drive strategic execution, operational excellence, and cross-functional alignment across our organization.
This is a high-impact leadership role overseeing Actuarial, Compliance, and Marketing & Communications, with responsibility for ensuring performance, regulatory alignment, and scalable operations that support continued growth.
Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with the BU President on strategic planning, operational priorities, financial planning, and policy matters related to the business; provide ongoing updates on operational performance, risks, and key initiatives.
  • Lead the Actuarial, Compliance, and Marketing & Communications teams, including setting objectives, managing performance, and supporting talent development.
  • Drive organizational effectiveness through resource alignment, cost management, and continuous process improvement.
  • Partner with the Compliance Department to develop, implement, and monitor policies, procedures, and controls to support operational and regulatory compliance.
  • Prepare and present executive-level reports on operational performance, compliance, actuarial insights, and strategic initiatives.
  • Lead the development and delivery of executive communications, including leadership meetings, town halls, and quarterly business reviews.
  • Advise leadership on organizational structure, resource allocation, and operational scalability.

What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in operations, compliance, actuarial, or a related discipline.
  • 8+ years of leadership experience with direct people management responsibility.
  • Experience within insurance, financial services, or another highly regulated industry strongly preferred.
  • Background in actuarial operations or analytics is a plus.
