Job Description - Production ManagerReports To: Plant ManagerSummaryThe Production Manager oversees daily production operations while strategically managingsupply chain, procurement, and materials flow to support efficiency, cost control, andquality. This role combines hands-on leadership of production teams with strategic vendormanagement, continuous improvement, and lean manufacturing initiatives to ensure safe,reliable, and cost-effective operations.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesSupervise, schedule, and direct production employees to achieve daily output andquality goals.Assist with compliance to safety, health, and environmental regulations.Monitor production metrics, identify inefficiencies, and drive continuousimprovement.Lead materials and purchasing activities to ensure on-time delivery of parts, rawmaterials, and equipment.Assist Supply Chain Management team in developing and maintaining relationshipswith reliable suppliers; negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to optimize cost andquality.Forecast demand, manage inventory, and implement pull systems/Kanbans forefficient material flow.Coordinate logistics for domestic and international shipments while mitigating risksin supply continuity.Conduct cost analysis, benchmarking, and supplier performance tracking to drivesavings.Contribute to new facility startups and production line launches, including projectmanagement of equipment installation and commissioning.QualificationsAssociate's degree in Business, Materials Management, or related field required;Bachelor's degree preferred.10+ years of experience in production, materials, and procurement leadership,preferably in the automotive or manufacturing sector.Proven experience in supplier selection, negotiations, and sourcing.Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage both production and materialsteams.Proficient in Microsoft Office, ERP systems (SAP/PLEX), and vendor managementsoftware.Skills & CompetenciesExcellent communication and negotiation skills.Strong problem-solving and analytical ability.Time management and ability to perform under pressure.Financial and operational cost control expertise.Strategic thinker with proven results in cost savings and efficiency improvements.
