VP of Finance

Position Overview

A successful, entrepreneurial, privately held company is seeking a VP of Finance to provide financial leadership across multiple businesses and investments.

The company has an established accounting team handling day-to-day accounting. This role will focus on cash management, forecasting, financial controls, capital allocation, and providing the CEO with strategic financial guidance.

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on financial leader who can anticipate future cash needs, identify financial risks and opportunities, and recommend how capital can best be protected and deployed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead financial strategy across multiple entities.

  • Manage cash flow, liquidity, treasury, and cash forecasting.

  • Advise the CEO on capital allocation, investments, and major financial decisions.

  • Develop budgets, forecasts, financial models, and management reporting.

  • Strengthen financial controls, policies, and procedures.

  • Provide leadership to the accounting and finance team.

  • Manage banking relationships and optimize the use of company cash.

  • Evaluate financial risks and opportunities.

  • Support acquisitions, due diligence, real estate investments, and expansion initiatives as needed.

  • Work closely with outside CPAs, attorneys, banks, and other advisors.

Qualifications
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.

  • Previous VP Finance, Director of Finance, or similar senior financial leadership experience.

  • Strong cash management, treasury, forecasting, and financial planning experience.

  • Experience advising entrepreneurial CEOs or business owners.

  • Strong accounting, reporting, budgeting, and financial controls background.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • CPA preferred.

  • Private-company and multi-entity experience strongly preferred.

  • Real estate, private equity, and M&A experience are a plus.

Compensation

Target Base Salary: $220,000–$250,000, depending on experience.
