We are looking to hire a VP, Regional Sales to join our US Consumer team. The position will ideally be based at our global headquarters in Hunt Valley, MD but remote options on the east coast may also be considered. The VP, Regional Sales will report to the VP, Group Sales.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The VP Regional Sales is responsible for driving profitable growth (NSV & Operating profit) of McCormick's North American USCPD portfolio within the US Geography space (primarily brokered accounts via Advantage and Sell Ethics along with a few direct customers - most notably Ahold USA and Amazon/E-Commerce). This role will require the individual to successfully navigate the customer via senior level influence (high level top-to-top, grocery leaders and core cross functional players) in order to leverage McCormick's broad array of capabilities All of the customer intimacy work is meant to drive and create branded and private brand solutions for McCormick and our strategic growth partners.

This role is the face of customer into the business and has a huge amount of influence into our broader go to market approach along with our total US Sales go to market and capabilities strategies.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive profitable growth via the McC USCPD business plan as well as customer specific initiatives through the broader McC team of sales professionals:
    •  Merchandising (core holiday) execution - display / pricing / optimization
    •  Price optimization and list price influence / management - tools leverage
    • Development of a broad Customer Level Business Plan (profit / topline)
    • Drive assortment gains via new items & share of shelf improvement - assortment tool & category insights
    • Leverage McCormick's wide array of marketing tools and insights and commercialize accordingly
    • Build broad capabilities and set the tone for business managers and our broker partners
    • Shopper marketing and omni tool leverage and partnerships
    • Category Management tools and insights
  • Drive our customer intimacy agenda with senior leadership at key accounts to establish a framework for successful execution and business results.  This is both an internal and external journey as this individual is ultimately the steward for the customer into McCormick while providing the framework for broad / deep strategic and tactical influence.
  • Develop a world class selling team via coaching, mentoring, hiring and retention.  This includes both direct reports (selling team) as well as cross-functional partners who are dedicated to these customers (Category Management, Revenue Management, Finance, Marketing and Supply Chain).
  • Drives the customer plan and drives solutions to complex challenges and opportunities cross functionally.  This individual is the voice of the customer into the business unit and is ultimately accountable for proactive and thoughtful gap / opportunity management around the full array of P&L levers. Build channel strategy - most notably Dollar, Drug and E-Commerce.
  • Build out our broader cross functional capabilities and create leverage within key customers - including Supply Chain, Finance, Digital / eCommerce and other cross functional partners.
  • This individual is a member of the Sales Leadership team for MCCORMICK and is expected to influence the strategic and tactical direction / choices that we are driving across the entire function.  In many instances, this individual will be responsible for driving broader capability building projects to enable functional success.
  • Responsible for the development of 5 direct reports

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Marketing or related discipline.
  • 10-15+ years of senior level CPG sales executive experience at director or VP level
  • Proven management, leadership & negotiation skills
  • Broad based operations/logistics competencies - ability to leverage cross-functional partnerships within key CPG retail partners.
  • Collaborative nature. A team player that will help drive the overall strategy and teams' strategy.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and activate channel/customer strategy, broker leadership and influence both in market and with various levels of leadership
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record

Base Salary: $200,280-360,470

Base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience for this role, and/or internal equity of our current employees as part of any final offer. This position is also eligible to participate in McCormick's Incentive Bonus (MIB) Plan/ McCormick's Sales Incentive Bonus (SIB) Plan/ McCormick's Dividend Program. In addition to a competitive compensation package, permanent employees of McCormick are eligible for our extensive Total Rewards programs that include:
