Job Title:VP, Construction Management - DisbursingJob Description:

Summary

The VP, Construction Management - Disbursing will be responsible for the direct oversight and progression of Construction Management (CM) associates within the Consumer and Business Banking CM Team and Commercial CM Team (collectively CM Team). This will include training, monitoring and auditing of work for these associates, as well as the day to day progression, development, and execution of customer files. The primary focus of leading the team will be centered on the following areas: budget reviews, Cost Breakdown Summaries, loan draws and correction of errors. This position will oversee compliance and collaboration projects between cross functional departments.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage, train and mentor the CM team to include coaching and performance management and overseeing the day to day processing needs.

    • Ensure CM associates are able to effectively resolve customer issues related to their file.

    • Develop the foundational skills needed for CM associates to process internal consumer residential and business banking construction draws bank-wide.

    • Monitor and audit work product completed by direct reports.

  • Drive efficiencies for the construction disbursing process through strategic/creative process.

  • Partner with relationship teams and leaders to drive improvement in the process.

  • Assist CM staff in everyday processing as needed.

  • Ensure the budget reviews and preparation of Cost Breakdown Summaries are completed by the team.

  • Attend meetings as needed with clients and loan staff to guide them through the process of construction management.

  • Review, understand and resolve issues regarding loan draw accuracy and correction of errors.

  • Initiate internal transfer requests as well as other miscellaneous advances to assist CM Team staff when needed.

  • Maintain third party inspectors as well as acquire new ones if needed in the various markets.

  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Ability to perform on-site inspections as needed

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including the skills necessary to deal tactfully and professionally with customers, associates, senior management, auditors and regulators

  • Excellent organizational skills, a high level of accuracy and strong attention to detail

  • Effective time management and the ability to work independently in a team environment.

  • Ability to function in a high volume and fast paced environment

  • Ability to handle sensitive information with complete confidentiality and professionalism

  • Ability to understand Construction Cost Breakdowns

  • Ability to travel to the different markets

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Manage the Consumer and Business Banking CM Team and Commercial CM Team

Education and/or Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred

  • 5-7 years' experience in construction management

  • 3 to 5 years' experience managing or leading a team

  • Advanced knowledge of construction and real estate

Computer and Software Skills

  • Skilled in operation of a personal computer, including Microsoft Word and Excel

  • SalesForce

  • Construction Software (Land Gorilla or other)
