Contractual Construction Risk Management information
What is the difference between Contractual Construction Risk Management vs Construction Project Management?
| Aspect | Contractual Construction Risk Management | Construction Project Management |
|---|---|---|
| Primary Focus | Identifying, analyzing, and mitigating contractual risks in construction projects | Planning, executing, and closing construction projects, including scope, schedule, and budget management |
| Credentials | Risk management certifications, legal knowledge, construction industry experience | Project management certifications (e.g., PMP), construction background |
| Work Environment | Legal and contractual settings, often working with legal teams and contractors | On-site and office settings, coordinating teams and resources |
| Employer & Industry Usage | Construction firms, legal consultants, risk management firms | Construction companies, general contractors, project owners |
While Contractual Construction Risk Management focuses on managing contractual risks and legal issues, Construction Project Management oversees the entire project lifecycle, including planning, execution, and delivery. Both roles are essential but serve different aspects of construction projects.
