What will you do?

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will act as the primary operational leader responsible for client retention, account expansion, team performance, and overall portfolio profitability.

In this role, you will partner closely with the Director of Engineering to safeguard quality delivery that meets client goals. Beyond daily execution, you will work with client leaders to guide their product roadmaps and find new ways to expand our business together.

This position requires work to be completed on-site at our Cedar Rapids, IA headquarters.

Specific responsibilities are defined across three major areas:

1. Account Leadership & Client Strategy

  • Client Relationship Management: Serve as the executive point of contact for key client accounts, building deep, trust-based relationships with client decision-makers.
  • Product & Strategic Roadmapping: Work directly with client leadership to map out their 2-month, 2-quarter, and 2-year technical and product strategy, aligning our delivery capabilities to their long-term goals.
  • Account Expansion: Proactively identify new SOW/project opportunities within existing accounts to drive revenue growth.

2. People Leadership & Operational Management

  • Direct Management: Directly supervise and mentor our Engineering Managers and Project Managers, providing clear accountability, performance coaching, and professional development.
  • Resource Allocation & Utilization: Oversee team staffing models, billable utilization targets, and resource forecasting to ensure execution teams are balanced and productive.
  • Process & Delivery Governance: Ensure delivery teams maintain operational discipline, clear milestone tracking, and rigorous documentation standards.

3. Portfolio Financial Performance (P&L)

  • Profitability & Margins: Own the financial health of assigned client accounts, tracking project budgets, gross margins, and burn rates.
  • Scope & Contract Control: Partner with managers to govern project scope, manage change orders (SOW amendments), and prevent unbilled scope creep.

What do you need?

The ideal candidate for this position will have:

  • 12+ years of professional experience in technology consulting, product management, or agency operations.
  • 8+ years in a direct people-management role supervising Project Managers.
  • Proven track record of account expansion and relationship management within existing B2B or commercial client portfolios.
  • Hands-on familiarity with P&L oversight, gross margin management, and billable utilization metrics.
  • Proven ability to translate client business goals into clear multi-quarter product roadmaps and actionable project scopes.
  • Exceptional executive presence and written/verbal communication skills.

What do you get?

On top of base compensation, Genova provides a competitive benefits package that includes:

  • Medical, dental, vision coverage
  • Life and disability insurance
  • Paid holidays and scaling PTO
  • A generous 401k plan
  • And more!
