NATURE AND SCOPE:

This position reports to the SVP, Commercial Real Estate Team Lead and will manage a team of Commercial Lenders. For the designated team, the SVP, Commercial Banking Team Lead provides credit and sales expertise, business development opportunities (CRE & C&I) and direction and training on all aspects of commercial lending, including loan structures, risk mitigation and cash management guidance. The SVP, Commercial Banking Team Lead will be responsible for completing mentoring and personnel reviews for team members. The SVP, Commercial Banking Team Lead’s incentive plan will be tied to performance of the designated team. This position will be located in Landmark’s new Green Bay office supporting the Green Bay and Northern Wisconsin markets.

REQUIREMENTS:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field. Master’s degree preferred. A combination of education and experience will also be considered.
2. Minimum 7 years of experience in business/commercial lending, including extensive credit training and lending experience.
3. Proven ability to effectively interact with senior executives as well as diverse groups of people from inside and outside the company.
4. Must have ability to develop team members’ sales and credit skills while providing motivation and constructive criticism.
5. Must have extensive credit skills and knowledge of laws and regulations governing commercial lending.
6. Must have strong sales and profiling skills.
7. Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, problem solving skills, organizational skills, negotiation skills and the ability to work independently.
8. Must be able to proficiently use Microsoft Word, Excel and/or other analysis software.
9. Ability to use independent judgment and discretion in various situations while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality.
10. Proven ability to independently organize work, balance multiple priorities and manage a variety of duties in a high-volume work environment with strong attention to detail.
11. Must have a thorough understanding of company policies and procedures as they relate to the position. Must understand and comply with all job-related state and federal laws and regulations.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Establishes and manages an ongoing proactive calling program focused on existing and prospective business members and referral sources. Coordinates opportunities to “team call”, providing access for team members to prospects and sources with multiple key partners.
2. Interviews existing and prospective members applying for commercial loans and/or for treasury management deposit services. Assists team members with interviews and subsequent credit analysis.
3. Requests the appropriate financial information necessary to underwrite commercial loans per Landmark’s Commercial Lending Policy. Ensures team members are interacting with underwriting personnel in a professional and efficient manner.
4. Works with the Commercial Banking Underwriter or Portfolio Manager to underwrite commercial loans according to Landmark’s Commercial Lending Policy and, when necessary, underwrite loans directly.
5. When appropriate, attends and presents commercial loan requests to the Commercial Loan Committee.
6. Works with the Commercial Loan Documentation personnel to ensure the right documents are generated for each loan. Reviews all loan documentation to ensure they properly represent approved terms and present all borrower information correctly. Ensures team members are interacting with Loan Doc and Servicing personnel in a professional and efficient manner.
7. Ensures that all necessary documentation is complete per Landmark’s Commercial Lending Policy prior to loan closings.
8. Resolves all loan exceptions in a timely manner. Enforces resolution of exceptions in team’s portfolio.
9. Continues to monitor commercial business relationships to minimize risk of losses over time.
10. Completes loan reviews and renewals as per Landmark’s Commercial Lending Policy. Ensures team members’ portfolios are being monitored and reviewed in a timely manner.
11. Assists in mentoring and training the branch staff in identifying potential business relationships.
12. In addition to growing the commercial loan portfolio, also responsible for growing treasury management deposits and selling additional business-related products and services.
13. Assists with collection activities related to business loans and accounts.
14. Represents Landmark Credit Union in the community by becoming involved in appropriate community activities.
15. Upon SVP request, team lead will be responsible for final review and approval of credits prior to presentation at loan committee.
16. Performs other duties as assigned.
