  • Lead and grow the engineering organization; install the pod operating model, handle organizational design, and establish career progression paths
  • Ship the V2 REST API surface, the OpenAPI spec, and the agent-readiness layer
  • Own engineering KPIs: delivery velocity, system reliability, defect density, hiring quality
  • Partner on diligence-readiness - repo hygiene, IP assignment, security posture - for a strategic transaction.
  • Partner with the Product team to define technical vision, architecture standards, and product delivery roadmaps
  • Own the performance metrics for Rebuyengine (latency, errors, etc).
  • Responsible for all platform security
  • Review and optimize our entire tech stack, also assess all critical points of failure to add redundancies as needed.
  • Responsible for shipping high quality code.

Who You Are
We're looking for an experienced engineering executive who combines deep technical expertise with exceptional leadership skills. You're passionate about building world-class engineering organizations, developing high-performing teams, and delivering technology that drives meaningful business outcomes.
The Hard Skills
  • 15+ years in engineering leadership; have led 30-50 person engineering organizations
  • Experience scaling SaaS platforms in ecommerce, martech, or developer tools
  • Proven success scaling high-growth SaaS platforms with a strong focus on reliability, scalability, and operational excellence.
  • Deep expertise in software architecture, distributed systems, APIs, cloud infrastructure, and platform engineering.
  • Experience building API-first products and developer platforms using modern REST and OpenAPI standards.
  • Strong understanding of modern software development practices, CI/CD, DevOps, observability, incident management, and engineering operations.
  • Experience optimizing application performance, platform latency, database performance, cloud infrastructure, and large-scale distributed systems.
  • Strong opinions on API design and developer experience - OpenAPI, REST conventions, agent-tool patterns
  • Modern stack fluency (PHP/Node/React/Shopify ecosystem helpful)
  • Comfortable operating in an exit-process posture with discretion
  • Vast experience with large data sets and must be a database expert
The Soft Skills
  • Strong communication skills and ability to break down complex problems into easy-to-understand concepts.
  • Executive presence with the ability to inspire confidence, influence decision-making, and build trust across the organization.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business strategies and executive recommendations.
  • Collaborative leader who builds strong partnerships across Product, Customer Success, Sales, Operations, and Executive Leadership.
  • Someone who carries a positive attitude, loves to be a problem-solver, is naturally self-motivated, and passionate about e-commerce.
