Job description

The Account Director is an individual contributor responsible for driving new and incremental revenue, along with growing existing business through GumGum's market-leading Mindset platform. Reporting into the VP of Sales for the Mountain region, this role owns the development and growth of key relationships across large and mid-sized agencies in Minnesota, leading strategic client conversations and partnerships.

This role is expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy, proactively managing a book of business while leveraging cross functional partners across account management, client strategy, marketing, and operations to deliver strong client outcomes. The Account Director is accountable for full-cycle sales execution from prospecting and pipeline development through negotiation and close.

Account Directors bring 5+ years of digital advertising sales experience and a deep understanding of the media and adtech ecosystem. They apply strong business judgment to navigate complex client needs, recommend the right solutions from GumGum's proven tech stack, and solve a wide range of challenges using established processes while knowing when to push beyond them to drive growth and differentiation.

Note: This position offers the opportunity for remote work or 'work from home' as there isn't a nearby office. However, we are only open to considering applicants in MN/preferably MSP for client interaction.

What You'll Achieve

  • Own and grow a strategic book of business ($3M+) through thoughtful account planning, expansion strategies, and proactive pipeline management. This territory will cover agencies and brands within Minneapolis/St. Paul and the state of Minnesota.
  • Lead client conversations, positioning GumGum as a strategic partner, not just a vendor, across programmatic media opportunities. Translate client objectives into solutions across GumGum's Mindset, Omnichannel, and Outcomes framework
  • Across account management, ad operations, client strategy, and other cross-functional teams to drive business outcomes
  • Salesforce and pipeline hygiene and forecasting accuracy quarterly/annually

Skills You'll Bring

  • Proven track record managing and expanding a $3M+ annual book of business, delivering consistent year-over-year revenue growth.
  • Over 5 years+ of experience selling digital media with deep-rooted agency and brand relationships across Minneapolis/St. Paul and the broader Minnesota market.
  • Skilled at building strategic relationships and navigating multiple stakeholders across planning, strategy, activation, and measurement to secure long-term partnerships.
  • Demonstrated success in positioning and selling programmatic, contextual, video, and Connected TV (CTV) solutions to meet diverse client needs.
  • Highly analytical and solutions-oriented with the ability to synthesize complex data into compelling, clear sales narratives that align with client objectives.
  • Proficient in leveraging advanced sales tools (including SellerCrowd, MediaRadar, Pathmatics, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator) for rigorous pipeline management and deal qualification.
  • Highly adaptable and comfortable thriving in fast-paced, evolving media environments with rapidly changing products, tools, and corporate strategies.
  • Strongly organized professional with exceptional time management skills, adept at balancing near-term revenue delivery with long-term strategic goals.
