Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Fountain Worker - Food Hall is to create an extraordinary experience by providing guests with prompt service, quality food, beverages and other products, and maintaining a clean and comfortable environment.

All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Welcome guests with a friendly and welcoming demeanor, providing prompt and memorable service.
  • Take food & beverage orders, answer questions, give recommendations, and serve orders to guests, while ensuring all guest needs are met.
  • Skillfully prepare and serve a variety of espresso, coffee, non-alcoholic beverages, alcoholic beverages, and food items.
  • Ensure consistent quality in drink and food preparation, following established recipes, procedures, and presentation standards.
  • Follows health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products.
  • Accurately process and fulfill guest orders, while acknowledging special requests and dietary restrictions and proactively communicating any requests with fellow Team Members to ensure accuracy of order.
  • Handle cash transactions, process payments, organize orders, and effective use of the Point-of-Sale (POS) system.
  • Maintain excellent cash handling skills, providing accurate change to guests, and a balanced cash drawer at all times, in accordance with Venetian cash handling policies.
  • Maintain a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or special events to keep restaurants operating to standard and setting a positive example for all Team Members.
  • Effective and elevated communication skills to convey all required information to guests, fellow Team Members, business partners, and leadership.
  • Ensure all areas are kept clean & maintain a clean and organized workspace.

  • Possess detailed food and menu knowledge.
  • Possess cocktail, liquor, beer, and wine knowledge.
  • Maintain proper hygiene and a presentable uniform and appearance, in accordance with Venetian appearance policies.
  • Comply with policies and procedures of the department to complete service satisfactorily.
  • Proper performance requires physical and mental dexterity in order to accomplish tasks associated with the completion of the service.

  • Assists with new Team Member’s training by demonstrating all values and policies & procedures required by The Venetian and all Partner Restaurants
  • Follows all policies and procedures, including those for cash handling and safety and security, to ensure the safety of all Team Members during each shift.

  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Alcohol Awareness Card, Health Card or any other certification or license, as required by law or policy.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must possess a positive, warm, and welcoming demeanor.
  • Minimum of 1 year of recent cash handling experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year of recent food server, cashier, fountain worker or barista experience in a luxury environment or similar setting.
  • Working knowledge of equipment to include, but not limited to beer drafts, coffee/espresso makers and various kitchen equipment.
  • Perform basic math skills: addition, subtraction, division and multiplication.
  • Excellent guest service skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
