Job description

Regional dedicated driver opportunity running a pre-loaded route out of Houston, TX. This is a high value, no touch freight account with a dedicated fleet manager and a 2 to 3 day out average.

The Pay:

  • $0.60 per mile to start
  • Average weekly gross of $1,350 to $1,500
  • 2,300 miles per week
  • $110 metro pay on loads under 150 miles
  • $25 per stop drop and stop pay, excluding origin and destination
  • $30 per hour detention after the first 2 hours
  • Vacation and holiday pay per company policy

The Schedule:

  • 2 to 3 days out on average, with your 34 hour reset typically done at home on weekends
  • 100% no touch, high value freight
  • All loads pre-loaded at origin, dispatched through Samsara or phone
  • Daily check-in required via Samsara or call in
  • Night driving required
  • Trucks stay parked at the distribution center, not taken home
  • Drivers may also run other regional areas and pick up backhauls

The Route:

  • Operating area covers Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansas, and Louisiana

Time Off:

  • First come, first served basis, one week notice required
  • Peak season runs October through January, no time off during this window except emergencies
  • No deliveries on Christmas Day and Thanksgiving Day

Requirements:

  • At least 22 years of age
  • Active CDL A with 1 year of tractor trailer experience in the past 5 years, or 6 months in the past 24 months
  • Current DOT medical card
  • Clean abstract: max 4 moving violations in 3 years (max 2 in the past year), max 3 chargeable accidents in 3 years (max 2 in the past 12 months)
  • No DUI/alcohol related conviction in the past 10 years
  • No felony theft conviction in the past 10 years
  • Stable work history and good references required
