Job description

BlueCloud Staffing is seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide 1:1 medical support for a student in a school setting in Locust Grove, GA.

This is a full-time, school-based opportunity offering a consistent weekday schedule and the ability to make a meaningful impact in a students daily life.

Position Overview

The LPN will provide dedicated 1:1 nursing care to a medically fragile student throughout the entire school day. This role includes accompanying the student during transportation to and from school via bus or van, ensuring medical safety and continuity of care.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with specialized medical equipment and be comfortable working independently within a school environment.

Responsibilities

Direct Student Care

  • Provide continuous 1:1 nursing support throughout the school day

  • Monitor and manage medical needs in accordance with physician orders

  • Perform GJ tube care and feedings

  • Provide tracheostomy (trach) care

  • Manage ventilator (vent) support

  • Monitor vital signs and assess for changes in condition

  • Respond appropriately to medical concerns or emergencies

Transportation Support

  • Ride the school bus or van with the student daily

  • Ensure safe and stable medical support during transportation

  • Communicate any medical updates to appropriate staff

Documentation & Collaboration
  • Maintain accurate daily nursing documentation

  • Communicate with parents/guardians and school staff as needed

  • Follow district health policies and procedures

  • Ensure compliance with Georgia nursing standards and school regulations

Qualifications
  • Active, unrestricted Georgia LPN license (required)

  • Experience with:

    • GJ tube care

    • Tracheostomy care

    • Ventilator management

  • Current CPR/BLS certification
