Join VHB's Raleigh NC Office as a Land Development Project Manager to help grow their expanding and innovative Land Development and Planning and Design team. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic team, across diverse disciplines, giving you exposure to a wide variety of projects in size and scope. Our clients include mixed-use, biotech, residential, multifamily, affordable housing, industrial, and hospitality developers.

VHB's Land Development Team is seeking passionate professionals to join our team supporting impactful projects like the Birch and Branch Apartments in Southeast Raleigh-a 180-unit affordable housing development. We're addressing key infrastructure and environmental challenges to help bring this community-focused project to life. Responsibilities

  • Direct projects by managing and delegating tasks, forecasting and proactively addressing workload, financial performance, and staffing needs, while collaborating with clients and teammates across the organization
  • Oversee and engage in the development of existing client relationships, including conducting periodic meetings, developing proposals and budgets, and gathering feedback with teammates
  • Prepare agreements and manage the creation and approval of construction plans, bid documents, technical specifications, and construction cost estimates
  • Analyze complex technical challenges and develop new or improved techniques, approaches, and alternative solutions
  • Promote career development, training and career path planning for all of your direct team members.
  • Develop engineering plans and specifications in a team environment for a multitude of projects

Skills and Attributes

  • Willingness to learn implementation of integrated services projects in a team with multidisciplinary skills
  • Knowledge of land development construction including codes and development regulations
  • Exhibits strong leadership skills and growth potential
  • Has interest in growing business development skills

Qualifications

  • BS in Civil Engineering or related degree
  • 8-11 years of increasing engineering experience on complex projects preferred
  • PE licensure in NC or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • Proficient in site layout, grading, utility design and stormwater management
  • Experience in developing and compiling/producing site plans, construction documents, specification, and engineering reports
  • Understanding of North Carolina market
  • Experience with GIS Systems is a plus - GIS is one of the tools we use to create better projects
  • Proficient in the following: AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Project, MS Office

The full-time annual base salary range for this position, located in Raleigh, NC, is $110,000 to $140,000. The base salary offered will be determined based on job-related factors, including geographic location, internal equity, experience, credentials, skills, education, work schedule, and other factors permitted by law. The posted salary range reflects base pay only. Additional compensation and benefits available to eligible employees are outlined in our Total Rewards Program. 

Annual base salary is one component of VHB's Total Rewards package. In addition to base pay, eligible employees may receive annual incentive compensation bonuses, spot bonuses, and merit-based salary increases, providing opportunities to increase earnings beyond base pay. VHB also offers a differentiating work experience, including a comprehensive benefits package that includes eligibility to participate in the VHB 401(k) plan, medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, wellness programs, tuition reimbursement, and recognition programs.
